“These People Think Too Highly of Themselves”: Internet Reacts As Call of Duty Pros Get Into An Apparent Physical Altercation

Two Call of Duty pros got into an apparent physical altercation during Day 5 of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Esports World Cup.

A video of an apparent physical altercation between Call of Duty pros has gone viral on the internet, and people are divided over the clip. The video, which captures an altercation from Day 5 of Call of Duty World Cup on August 9, 2026, shows two pros shoving each other. One user on Reddit criticized the two people involved, saying “these people think too highly of themselves”: 

“These people think too highly of themselves. Competitive CoD is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to competitive scenes. They even somehow lose out to the Smash scene despite their issues. They need to sit down.” 

Another user echoed a similar sentiment:

“Professional? Cod? And with controllers? LOL” 

One user fully condoned the altercation, saying esports needs a little bit of “spice”:

“I know it’s childish, but I think e-sports needs a little spice like this to give viewers more of a reason to watch.” 

Another user agreed, drawing comparisons to sports, where emotions sometimes get the better of athletes:

“its literally competition. this stuff happens in real sports constantly. but for some reason esports wants to be all nice and loving. sometimes emotions get the best of you when you are trying your hardest to do everything to win.”

What Happened Between the Call of Duty Pros?

The incident occurred during Day 5 of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Esports World Cup. During a matchup between Team Falcons and Team Heretics, Heretics were sweeping the competition, winning map after map. Team Heretics eventually clean-swept the tie, winning dominantly with a 4-0 score and eliminating Team Falcons from the playoffs. 

As the tie concluded, RenKor, a player from Team Heretics, ran over to the opponent booth and began to speak to Cellium, a player from Team Falcons. While we don’t know what RenKor said to Cellium, we do know that whatever it was, it prompted Cellium to shove RenKor, kicking off a physical altercation.

Before things could get out of hand, a few Team Heretics players quickly rushed to the booth and separated the two. RenKor then walked away, and the players shook hands respectfully, preventing the tie from ending on an ugly note.
