Recently, Visegrád 24 reported on a video game store owner being attacked by protesters in Nice, France. They shared a video of a man, said to be the owner, being harassed and kicked from behind. The caption for the now-viral video reads:
“A French video game and cartoon store owner has his store looted in Nice. He gets attacked from behind and then has rocks thrown at him while young rioters laugh.”
The host of The Rubin Report reacted to the post and shared his thoughts on the rioters who allegedly kicked the store owner. He wrote:
“Shoot these people or lose your country.”
Being a popular figure on the right, Rubin had his fair share of controversial remarks about the protests. He reacted to another video that fellow right-wing commentator Katie Hopkins posted, which allegedly shows rioters destroying someone’s store. Claiming that the store owner had the right to retaliate, he called France a “failed state.” He wrote:
“This is what a failed state looks like. She should 100% have the right to shoot them.”
On Truth Social, President Donald Trump shared his thoughts on the ongoing protests in France. He suggested that the “immigration of people” into France, who he said carried “hatred in their hearts,” were behind the violence. He also argued that France must close its borders before things get worse. Trump wrote:
“France is burning! The immigration of people from an entirely different world, people with hatred in their hearts, has shattered that once-great country. Close your Borders and take control, before it is too late! President DONALD J. TRUMP”
Dave Rubin compared the situation in France to that of America. With the upcoming midterm election, the conservative commentator urged people to “vote accordingly.” He suggested that other Western leaders might follow Trump’s lead on their own immigration policies. He wrote:
“The last chance the West has is Trump to do what needs to be done here in America, so *maybe* other Western leaders will follow suit. Vote accordingly in November.”
