On November 3, 2026, Senator Jon Ossoff addressed the people with a smile on his face. While addressing the people, X user @clashreport shared a clip where the Democratic senator celebrated his victory and took the time to blast President Trump for his shortcomings.

“In sweeping and decisive victories, the American people have rebuked the depravity, corruption, and incompetence of the failed lame-duck President Donald J. Trump.”

Ossoff, who delivered that line to supporters in Atlanta, is 39 and Georgia’s junior senator. He is the youngest member of the chamber. He arrived in January 2021 after beating Republican incumbent David Perdue in a runoff. He is also Georgia’s first Jewish senator. Trump carried the state in 2024, leaving Ossoff as the only Senate Democrat defending a state the president won. He turned the race into a referendum on Trump and beat Representative Mike Collins, the president’s endorsed pick.

The Associated Press called Georgia for Ossoff at 7:55 p.m. Eastern. He won roughly 60% of the vote, according to The New York Times results map. Democrats needed a net gain of four Senate seats to take the chamber. They got there, with Sherrod Brown winning Ohio and James Talarico winning Texas, The Independent reported. Ossoff’s win kept that path open in a state Trump carried two years earlier.

On the other hand, former congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene predicted Democrats would probably win. The former congresswoman mentioned that Trump and Republicans had failed so dramatically to deliver on the campaign promises of ’24. She framed the night as a referendum on the president rather than a genuine win for Democrats.
