PS5 Games With The Easiest Platinum Trophies

Collecting PS5 Platinum trophies can be downright addictive, so much so that we even created a phrase to describe the act of playing a game specifically to get that satisfying notification: Trophy hunting. A lot of developers clearly took notice of this subsection of Sony’s community, with some going so far as to release games designed solely to reward a Platinum in a couple of minutes.

Anyone who simply wants to amass as many trophies as possible can easily knock out a couple every day by focusing on these types of titles. Fortunately, you don’t have to buy trophy games to collect Platinums, as you can just stick to “normal” titles that don’t force you to jump through absurd hoops. While the commitment varies from title to title, these games usually require only a single playthrough or make it very easy to clean up any missed trophies.

We are including games with native PS5 versions, so no PS4 games that run on PS5. That said, we have an article that covers that ground.

We will be ignoring games designed to hand out a Platinum in 5 minutes. The PS Store has hundreds of these releases, and they are all essentially the same.

What Makes a Platinum Trophy Easy?

Before getting to the games themselves, let’s briefly set some criteria for what constitutes an “easy” PS5 Platinum trophy. Not every single recommended title hits all these points, but they cover most of them. Not all Platinum trophies are created equal. Some require dozens upon dozens of grinding to complete, while others are impossible to unlock without multiple playthroughs. A few games have multiplayer-only trophies that are born with expiration dates since they need to be completed while the scene is active.

Fortunately, some titles opt against including a billion hurdles en route to their Platinum. Putting aside releases that only exist to hand out a quick Platinum, many fully fleshed out PS5 games keep things simple and easy. Let’s highlight a few elements common to these Platinum trophies.

Easy is not a synonym for short, and a 40+ hour game could still have a straightforward Platinum. Still, time is a precious commodity, and players might lose interest if they have to spend dozens of hours on a game they are not particularly enjoying. Therefore, if we are talking specifically about trophy hunters, an easy Platinum that only requires maybe 5 or 10 hours is valuable and attractive. You don’t have to buy a $2 trophy game to unlock a Platinum in a single day.

Even more so than length, this criterion is arguably the most important. Missable trophies determine a Platinum’s difficulty, since players might end up a bronze short if they accidentally skip a quest or fail a challenge. They might be forced to play through the game again, or at least part of the campaign. Easy Platinums generally avoid missable trophies or include a chapter select option that lets players quickly retrace their steps to get anything they skipped.

Pretty much all Platinums require players to complete the main story/campaign. If you don’t see the end credits, you will not receive the trophy. Some games are just easy by nature, while others have adjustable difficulty settings and don’t tie any trophies to the higher levels.

Honestly, I enjoy grinding in RPGs, but it is never fun to spend 10 mindless hours in dungeons just because you have to defeat a thousand enemies or collect hundreds of items to unlock bronze trophies. If heavy grinding is necessary, then a game’s Platinum cannot be described as easy.

Clear and Straightforward Trophy Requirements

Some trophy requirements are too specific or convoluted, making it frustrating to understand what is expected of you. Easy Platinums value simplicity. You have to finish the story, complete these side quests, find a few collectibles, visit this location, and beat these bosses. An example that isn’t simple is Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain‘s Elite trophy, which requires completing all 50 missions with an S rank. Mission tasks are often unclear or hidden, making it exhausting to unlock this trophy without using a guide.

Recent PS Plus Games With Easy Platinum Trophies (July And August)

Avatar, Rise of the Ronin, & More

• Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (40–60 Hours) – One of the headline acts of PS Plus Extra’s July lineup is an Ubisoft open-world game that requires a substantial investment to achieve the Platinum trophy, although the requirements aren’t especially difficult by any stretch of the imagination. Like many Ubisoft titles of this kind, the Platinum mostly boils down to collectibles, and the process is a grind. I wouldn’t recommend starting this game specifically to get the Platinum.
• Rise of the Ronin (40–60 Hours) – Another lengthy investment that isn’t particularly difficult, Rise of the Ronin allows you to complete the Platinum run on easy difficulty, which makes the whole process quite straightforward. We are still talking about a lengthy Team Ninja open-world game that takes roughly 50 hours to complete, so you will need to work for the platinum.
• Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind (5–10 Hours) – A fairly short Platinum that can be harder than it seems, even if you only need two playthroughs to get everything. If you aren’t familiar with beat ’em ups, or just don’t like them, Rita’s Rewind isn’t one of the genre’s highlights and relies quite a bit on Power Rangers nostalgia. You probably want to play the game on easy to upgrade the Rangers and then go for a hard run.
• Citizen Sleeper 2 (12–18 Hours) – While multiple runs are required to get the Platinum, Citizen Sleeper 2 is otherwise relatively simple to complete. You need to complete the game on Dangerous difficulty, and must deal with the fact that the gameplay revolves around dice rolls.
• Big Walk – This co-op is still too early in its run for me to really say if it’s worth doing, but the requirements don’t seem particularly difficult.
• Signalis (5–8 Hours) – A single playthrough is all that is needed, albeit on Survival mode. Signalis is very much a classic survival horror game, which means it can be quite challenging and obtuse at times.
• If you want to spend an eternity on a Platinum, try Dying Light 2.

My Name Is Mayo: Remayo

30 Minutes To Obtain The Platinum

Probably one of the most infamous short PlayStation games designed primarily to be an easy platinum, My Name Is Mayo originally debuted on the PS4, and that version is available to play on the PS5 as well. That said, if you are looking to get the optimal Mayo experience, you will want to pick up the Remayo remaster, which is available on both consoles. Although it is basically the same game, it comes with a few additions that make it a touch longer. However, Remayo is still a very straightforward and short game with a platinum that can be obtained in less than an hour.

Drowning

Roughly An Hour To Obtain The Platinum

Drowning is an ambitious walking simulator that aims to show the impact of depression on a young man in his early school life. Unsurprisingly, it isn’t an enjoyable experience and requires four playthroughs to obtain the platinum trophy.

Thankfully, that will only take most players up to an hour to achieve and 30 minutes for faster players. It is highly recommended that players follow a guide to attain the coveted platinum trophy as quickly as possible. Some trophies are missable and can be overlooked without a guide.

My Friend Peppa Pig

1–2 Hours To Obtain The Platinum

Peppa Pig is a character that every kid is familiar with at this point, with this surprisingly popular figure teaching children good values in a simple yet engaging manner. This character is bound to feature in a few games that children can enjoy, even if they’re too young to tackle more complicated game mechanics.

A bonus here is that the game can be completed in no time, with the Platinum trophy unlockable after just an hour and a half. This is nothing compared to the other titles that make players toil for ages to get this accolade.

What Remains of Edith Finch

2–3 Hours To Obtain The Platinum

Putting aside shovelware, Platinum trophies are satisfying because they signal that a player has experienced everything a game has to offer. Whether that journey requires 5 or 50 hours is somewhat irrelevant, as the Platinum means the same thing for both. What Remains of Edith Finch is an example of a title that just wants you to enjoy it in full, which is easy to do considering the game is great. Essentially a walking simulator, you explore a house in search of stories relating to different characters, allowing you to form a family tree.

As long as you take your time and look through everything, you should unlock nearly every standard trophy during a single playthrough. After that, just replay two stories to get the Platinum. Simple and enjoyable.

Pinkman+

2–3 Hours To Obtain The Platinum

Earning the platinum trophy essentially amounts to beating the game. This is not a case of a game designed simply to give players an easy PS5 platinum trophy. Pinkman+ is an engaging platformer with a simple but distinct art style. It will feel both satisfying and brief to earn this platinum.

Anyone who goes through the game will have no issue snagging this platinum once they beat the game. Any platformer enthusiast is going to have a good time going through Pinkman+.

The Gardens Between

2–3 Hours To Obtain The Platinum

A pretty great adventure puzzle game, The Gardens Between does not overstay its welcome in any way, and The Voxel Agents made collecting the Platinum as painless as possible. While there are quite a few trophies that are not just unlocked automatically by progression through the story, the game has a chapter select option that simplifies the process of cleaning up any missed achievements.

For the first playthrough, I would just recommend playing through the campaign normally without worrying too much about trophies. You will unlock a good percentage of the trophies by just doing that, and The Gardens Between is well-worth experiencing as intended. After that, just slowly check off all the trophies that you might have missed by revisiting chapters.

Venba

2–3 Hours To Obtain The Platinum

More games need to provide some much-needed South Asian representation, and Venba is a great example of why. The game uses cooking minigames to highlight many aspects of South Indian cuisine while communicating a fun narrative along the way.

Venba is a beautiful and short experience that shows indie gaming at its very best. Players who check out this game on the PlayStation 5 will easily power through this fun, cozy game, earning a Platinum trophy in no time at all.

The Artful Escape

3–5 Hours To Obtain The Platinum

The Artful Escape takes you on a mind-trip journey that features rock-solid platforming, beautiful visuals, and great music. The story follows the nephew of a beloved musician who is trying to live up to the latter’s legacy, and he ends up going on quite an adventure of self-discovery.

Along with being just an all-around fun game, The Artful Escape is an easy platinum that should only require playing through the campaign once. Most of the trophies are triggered by completing story beats, which you simply cannot miss. The exceptions are also very obvious and shouldn’t be an issue; that said, if you miss one, just replay that chapter to get it.
