PS Plus Monthly Games for September 2026 Wish List

PlayStation Plus is currently working on its rollout of Monthly Extra games for August 2026, at which time fans and the company will no doubt look toward the full selection of PS Plus games for September 2026. On August 25, PS Plus Extra will add Hell is Us, Umamusume Pretty Derby: Party Dash, Two Point Museum, Metro Exodus, and Dying Light 2, bringing the month’s selection of games to an end.

With eyes soon moving toward September, it’ll be interesting to see what PS Plus adds to the Essential, Extra, and Premium tier, although one game has already been confirmed for PS Plus Extra—RuneScape: Dragonwilds. The open-world survival crafting game, set in the beloved RuneScape universe, is moving beyond Steam with its 1.0 release and will drop on PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass day one. What joins it for PS Plus Extra, as well as what comes to the PS Plus free games for September and PS Plus Premium games (if anything), remains to be seen, but it’s shaping up to be a solid month already.

PS Plus Free Game for September 2026 Wish List — Stellar Blade

Read GameRant’s Review of Stellar Blade

Stellar Blade is a stylish action-adventure game from Shift Up that follows Eve, a member of an elite squad sent to Earth to reclaim the planet from the monstrous Naytiba. Its fast-paced combat, flashy character designs, challenging bosses, and exploration make it a strong fit for players who enjoy games like Nier: Automata and Bayonetta. Shift Up is currently working on a sequel, Stellar Blade: Blood Rain, so using PS Plus to try to expand the fanbase ahead of a sequel is a pretty common practice on PS Plus. It’s also worth mentioning that Stellar Blade does have a PS Plus Premium 2-hour trial right now, but that shouldn’t stop it from debuting as a PS Plus free game later this year or next, if not in September.

PS Plus Free Game for September 2026 Wish List — Marvel Cosmic Invasion

Read GameRant’s Review of Marvel Cosmic Invasion

A strong single-player game on PS Plus (in Stellar Blade) would make a good headline alongside the more open-ended nature of RuneScape: Dragonwilds for PS Plus, so having something a little easier to pick up and play without much dedication makes sense. Marvel Cosmic Invasion is an easy pick for that as a side-scrolling beat ’em up from Tribute Games and Dotemu that brings together a huge roster of Marvel heroes to battle Annihilus and his forces across multiple cosmic locations. The game supports local and online co-op and focuses on fast arcade-style action, making it a good co-op and multiplayer game choice for PS Plus subscribers.

Similarly, a side-scrolling beat ’em up isn’t going to be for everyone (in the context of an easier pick-up-and-play vs. games like Stellar Blade and RuneScape). As such, a game like Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds could also be appealing for Sonic fans, racing game fans, and just general fans with the bombardment of major games from PS Plus and generally in September. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is a kart racer that brings Sonic and other Sega characters together for high-speed races across a variety of tracks and alternate CrossWorlds. The game builds on the Mario Kart-style formula with transforming vehicles, dynamic track changes, item-based combat, and online multiplayer, giving it plenty of replay value beyond its single-player content.

PS Plus Extra and Premium Games for September 2026 Wish List

Because PS Plus Extra tends to add about ten games per month, it’s harder to throw a designated dart as the vibes are so widespread. Similarly, PS Plus Premium is so thinly added to that it’s a massive dartboard to try and hit. All that said, Kena would be a good addition ahead of its sequel, and Split Fiction would nicely expand the co-op games list on PS Plus. Metaphor would be a similar investment to RuneScape: DragonWilds if PlayStation is looking to expand its selection of games with serious depth. I Am Your Beast and Promise Mascot Agency would be great games to supplement whatever PS Plus chooses to headline.

PS Plus Premium is the black sheep because some months get no additions, others get 1-2. Getting access to older games is great, and ahead of Persona 4 Revival and/or Persona 6‘s release date, it would be great if the older Persona games were more accessible via something like PS Plus Premium. They are notoriously difficult to get ahold of right now, so their addition would be way more meaningful than some games.

  • Kena: Bridge of Spirits
  • Split Fiction
  • Metaphor: ReFantazio
  • I Am Your Beast
  • Promise Mascot Agency
  • Revelations: Persona, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, Persona 2: Eternal Punishment (PS Plus Premium)
