Former League of Legends pro Luka ‘Perkz’ Perković has deleted his X account after being fired by G2 Esports over a controversial social media post that sparked widespread backlash.
Perkz, who had been serving as a head coach for G2, was dropped by the esports organization on November 5, just hours after publishing a lengthy statement outlining his personal beliefs on several divisive topics.
The 27-year-old has now deleted his X account entirely, although his Instagram, Twitch and YouTube accounts remain available.
Perkz deletes X account following G2 controversy
On November 4, Perkz published a 2,676-word statement on X, describing it as his “first and last honest post” in a decade.
The former League of Legends star addressed several topics, including his religious beliefs, abortion, politics, and his relationship with former G2 CEO Carlos ‘ocelote’ Rodríguez.
Among the most controversial remarks was his stance on abortion, which he compared to murder.
“I cannot comprehend how people do not understand that is a murder, as life is created at conception,” he wrote. “That is one view I will die by and never change.”
Perkz also denied supporting Andrew and Tristan Tate, defended his past loyalty to Rodríguez, and insisted he was not a supporter of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The statement quickly attracted criticism on social media, prompting G2 Esports to announce that it was terminating its relationship with Perkz.
“While the world is complex and not everyone agrees on everything, some of the statements made last night do not align with G2’s stance and values,” G2 CEO Alban Dechelotte said.
“We acknowledge that this statement hurt many of our fans, and we want to apologize for it.”
Following his dismissal, Perkz shared a Bible verse from Luke 6:22, which begins: “Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company.”
However, by November 6, his entire X account had been deleted, removing both his original statement and subsequent response from the platform.
His Instagram account remains accessible, and he has not issued a further public statement addressing his departure from G2 or the deletion of his X account.
G2, meanwhile, has confirmed that it will focus on rebuilding its coaching staff and roster ahead of the next competitive season, with further announcements expected once free agency officially opens.
