As a former Yonko, Kaido is highly regarded as one of the most powerful pirate captains in One Piece. Kaido’s body is virtually indestructible, and he can use each type of Haki and its advanced applications. He can transform into a massive dragon that can destroy entire mountains, and his hybrid form can flatten almost anyone. That said, a few pirates could potentially surpass him by the end of the series.
Most pirates who could surpass Kaido are already worth well over 1 billion berries, and many of them can already take on a Yonko and their commanders. One of these pirates actually forced Kaido to dodge, while another holds the power to destroy the world. For some of these pirates, it will take time to surpass Kaido because they have not even reached their full potential.

Trafalgar D. Water Law Needs to Train His Haki and Devil More, but He Could Potentially Surpass Kaido
Law is a former Warlord of the Sea, and like Luffy, his current bounty sits at 3 billion berries. It may have been with Kidd’s help, but Law did defeat Big Mom on Onigashima. He also went toe-to-toe with Blackbeard on Winner Island until he was ultimately overwhelmed by the combined power of the Dark-Dark Fruit and Tremor-Tremor Fruit. These feats already place Law near Yonko level.
Law possesses the Op-Op Fruit, which allows him to manipulate space within a spherical area. Thanks to Devil Fruit Awakening, he can apply this effect to his weapons. At 26, Law is not even in his prime, yet he could already deal serious damage to Big Mom and Kaido’s dragon form. If he continues to train with his Devil Fruit and strengthens his Haki, he can eventually become strong enough to fight Kaido alone. All of this depends on if Law can unlock his Conqueror’s Haki in the Final Saga.

Crocodile Can Surpass Kaido if He Awakens His Devil Fruit
Crocodile was the first Warlord of the Sea to lose to Luffy, but that does not make him weak. He ate the Sand-Sand Fruit, one of the strongest Logia-type Devil Fruits in the Final Saga. With it, he can create and control sand. He can transform into sand at will, and he benefits from intangibility, meaning most attacks infused with Haki or moisture will phase through his body.
Crocodile finally unlocked Haki during the time skip, and given his ability to lead vast criminal enterprises, he should have Conqueror’s Haki by the end of the series. The Sand-Sand Fruit already gives Crocodile the ability to turn an island into a desert, and it hasn’t even awakened yet. If Crocodile awakens his Devil Fruit, he could probably drain all the moisture from every living thing around him without needing to touch them. Sand blades infused with advanced Haki would be lethal enough to pierce through Kaido’s skin.

Kuzan Is a Former Admiral Who Can Decimate Entire Yonko Crews
As a Marine Admiral, Kuzan was already one of the strongest characters in One Piece. He left the Marines after failing to become the new Fleet Admiral and later joined the Blackbeard Pirates during the time skip. Kuzan is a powerful Haki user who can take down multiple Yonko commanders at once. It helps that he has the Ice-Ice Fruit, which gives him complete control over ice.
Kuzan single-handedly defeated most of the Big Mom Pirates, and fought evenly with Vice-Admiral Garp, the legendary Marine who forced Kaido to retreat on God Valley. At Marineford, Kuzan successfully countered Whitebeard’s attack, which proves he can handle Yonko-level characters. It’s not clear if Kuzan has Conqueror’s Haki or not, but if he does and manages to awaken his Logia powers, he should be able to freeze someone like Kaido eventually.

Sanji Will Eventually Surpass Kaido When He Unlocks Conqueror’s Haki
Sanji received a major power-up in Wano when his Vinsmoke genetic enhancements activated during his fight with Queen. As a result, he now possesses superhuman strength and speed, an extremely durable exoskeleton, enhanced regeneration, and the ability to make blue fire. Sanji has already displayed his strength during the Final Saga by blocking Admiral Kizaru’s lasers and taking on Saint Killingham of the Knights of Gods.
Sanji’s Armament Haki is quite strong, but even his Ifrit Jambe attack, which utilizes Armament Haki, cannot hurt Kaido. Sanji has been trying to unlock his Conqueror’s Haki for some time, and it will likely happen by the time the Elbaph Arc ends because it is the only Haki that counters the Knights of God. With advanced Conqueror’s Haki, Sanji’s superhuman kicks would be stronger than Kaido’s near-indestructible body.

Roronoa Zoro Will Become Strong Enough to Destroy Kaido’s Near-Indestructible Body
Zoro is Luffy’s First Mate, and he is well on his way to becoming the World’s Strongest Swordsman. During the Onigashima Raid, Zoro unlocked advanced Conqueror’s Haki and used it to defeat King of the Beast Pirates. During the Final Saga, Zoro has already defeated an awakened Rob Lucci on Egghead and blocked an attack from Saint V. Nusjuro’s awakened hybrid form.
On Elbaph, Zoro survived a direct hit from Imu and fought on par with Saint Sommers of the Knights of God. Kaido dodged one of Zoro’s attacks atop Onigashima because it would have done serious damage to him, and it was not even imbued with Conqueror’s Haki. When Zoro finally surpasses Mihawk in the Final Saga, he will officially be able to cut straight through Kaido’s body.

Marshall D. Teach Will Easily Surpass Kaido if He Masters Both Devil Fruits and Advanced Haki
Marshall D. Teach, otherwise known as Blackbeard, is the only known person in the world with two Devil Fruits. The Dark-Dark Fruit gives Teach control over darkness, essentially turning him into a living black hole who can nullify other Devil Fruits. The Tremor-Tremor Fruit can destroy the world with powerful quakes. Even with these powers, Kaido was considered one of the few people in the world who could beat Teach.
Teach is the son of Davey D. Xebec, the legendary pirate who could easily cut down a younger Kaido. If Teach has inherited most of Xebec’s strength, he will surpass Kaido before One Piece ends. Advanced Conqueror’s Haki is one step to overtaking Kaido, but if he also awakens two of the strongest Devil Fruits in history, not even prime Kaido would be able to stop Teach.

Yamato Is Already a Miniature Kaido, and She Hasn’t Even Reached Her Prime
Yamato is Kaido’s daughter, and she was part of the Beast Pirates until she defected. She is now an aspiring pirate traveling around Wano until she sets sail on her own. Yamato ate the Dog-Dog Fruit, Model: Okuchi-no-Makami, a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit that turns her into a divine ice wolf. Like Kaido’s hybrid form, Yamato’s hybrid form is one of One Piece‘sbest transformations.
Like her father, Yamato can use all three types of Haki, including advanced Armament and Conqueror’s Haki. During the Onigashima Raid, Yamato clashed evenly with Kaido for some time until she was eventually overpowered. Yamato is not even 30, which means she is not in her prime yet. As a miniature Kaido, Yamato is poised to replace him as the world’s strongest creature, and chances are, she will surpass hid by the time she reaches 40.
