New $645 Pokemon Release Officially Confirmed for 2027

A brand-new Pokemon release has been confirmed for November 2027, with Gengar as the main focus. The catch, though, is that this new Pokemon release costs a whopping $645, which may put it out of reach for some fans.

Gengar was first introduced in Pokemon Generation 1. This Ghost/Poison-type Pokemon’s design became an instant fan-favorite, and it has only increased in popularity over the last 30 years. Gengar has been the subject of tons of impressive Pokemon fan creations over the years, but this new official release is certainly welcomed.

Pokemon Gengar Sideshow Diorama Confirmed for Late 2027 Release

Sideshow Collectibles has officially opened pre-orders for its new Gengar diorama, which is priced at $645 and is expected to release between November 2027 and February 2028. The display piece features Gengar alongside its whole evolutionary line – Gastly and Haunter – twisted around a tree in a spooky diorama. While the Gengar display was first unveiled at PokemonXP 2026 earlier this year, Sideshow hasn’t made it available for fans to pre-order until now.

The details on the piece are pretty incredible, with vibrant Pokemon designs inspired by the trio’s animated series appearances. Sculptor Matias Cabrera has even sculpted the trails of fog behind the Pokemon, giving the piece the illusion of motion. It stands at 14.5 inches tall, making it a pretty big display piece for any Pokemon collector out there.

GameRant Quiz

Sideshow has announced a full line of Pokemon statues and dioramas, each celebrating some of the franchise’s most iconic designs. Some have already been released, such as its Charizard statue, while others, such as the life-sized Eevee or the Snorlax diorama, are planned to launch in 2027. Grabbing all of them would quickly ramp up in price, but it would make for an incredible display.

2026 has been an awesome year for the Pokemon franchise, which has marked its 30th anniversary with a bunch of exciting new releases. Pokemon Pokopia was undoubtedly the highlight, as the franchise took a swing at a brand-new genre, the gamble paying off massively. Next year has the potential to be even bigger, with the upcoming release of Pokemon Generation 10: Winds and Waves. It would have been cool to have Gen 10 to celebrate the 30th anniversary, but ultimately, it’s better for Game Freak to take its time and have a better game as a result.
