The Dallas Mavericks are offering a big package of experiences, rather than cash, to whoever finds and hands over an extremely rare rookie trading card of player Cooper Flagg
The card was released as part of the 2025-26 Topps Chrome Update Basketball set on August 6, 2026, featuring a patch from the jersey Flagg wore during the first half of his NBA debut alongside his signature.
The Mavericks’ offer an expansive bounty reward
According to the team’s official announcement, the package includes two lower-level season tickets for 32 years, a nod to Flagg’s jersey number, along with a signed game-worn jersey, a postgame photo with Flagg, and a private photoshoot with the Rookie of the Year and Larry O’Brien trophies.
It also includes a VIP tour of the practice facility, a private basketball experience for up to 10 guests, and a fully funded trip to see the Mavericks play the Boston Celtics.
According to ESPN, financial analysts have questioned the value of the offer. Sports Cards Investor founder Geoff Wilson estimated the card could fetch between $2 million and $5 million at auction, while the Mavericks’ package is estimated to be worth around $840,000 to $1.2 million, most of it tied up in decades of non-liquid season tickets.
The situation echoes a similar bounty offered by the Pittsburgh Pirates for Paul Skenes’ debut patch card in 2025. The finder in that case declined the season-ticket package, and the card went on to sell at auction for $1.11 million.
Flagg had a historic rookie campaign, winning NBA Rookie of the Year after averaging 21 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists across 70 games, and becoming the first teenager in NBA history to score 50 points in a single game.
