On September 22, 2026, Elle Magazine interviewed American artist Sombr. In it, Sombr addressed a piece of advice he received from Taylor Swift on how to deal with hate comments. He said The Fate of Ophelia singer told him that if hate comments go away, “maybe you’re not at your peak anymore,” and that receiving them is a sign of privilege. He said this advice changed his perspective on how to handle negative comments. Speaking to Elle, he said:
“One of the best pieces of advice the legend has given me— The person I look up to most has given me. The amazing pop star. Is that if these hate comments go away, maybe you’re not at your peak anymore. I think it’s a privilege to be receiving these and rise above it. Ever since she gave me that advice, it’s really changed my perspective and has helped.”
