IShowSpeed opens up about “waking up feeling alone” despite having “everything” during a Q&A session with his online community.
On September 25, 2026, YouTube and Twitch star Darren “IShowSpeed” hosted a Q&A session in his official X Community – SPEED GANG.
X user @Favestreamercli asked the content creator whether he “still wakes up some days feeling completely alone” even “after everything.” They also asked Darren about being “scared that the louder the world gets, the quieter it feels inside”:
“After everything — the millions of people screaming your name, the trips around the world, the fame — why do you still wake up some days feeling completely alone… and does it scare you that the louder the world gets, the quieter it feels inside” X user @Favestreamercli wrote.
In response, IShowSpeed stated that the netizen’s question “hit” him. Claiming that there are some days when he “wakes up feeling alone even after everything,” the 21-year-old wrote:
“this one hit. yeah some days i wake up feeling alone even after everything. millions of people know speed, but not a lot of people really know darren. youll have thousands screaming your name all day and then you go back to the hotel room and its dead quiet. the louder it gets outside the more you notice it. does it scare me? sometimes fr. but thats why i hold on to the simple stuff, training, anime, learning piano, and my family. my brother, my mom and my dad knew me before any of this. thats what keeps me me.”
Furthermore, IShowSpeed revealed that he became a millionaire when he was 17 years old, adding that averaging 100,000 viewers has “just been normal ever since”:
“honestly its kinda different for me. when i was a kid we struggled, me and my mom was poor. but i started streaming consistently at 15 and by then i was already making five figures, so i was helping my mom out with the bills instead of worrying about them. by 17 i was a millionaire. that dont mean i never struggled, i did but just in other ways. and the viewers i dont really look at them. i blew up at 16 and was getting 100k viewers back then, so its just been normal to me ever since.”
IShowSpeed Explains How Money Did Not “Corrupt Him”
X user @Barryjustcame asked the YouTuber, “How did the money not corrupt him?” IShowSpeed responded by stating that he did not begin his career “for the money,” but rather “with a dream.”
He added:
