Blueface faces backlash after putting his hands around his girlfriend’s son’s neck during a Kick livestream.
Rapper Blueface is going viral for all the wrong reasons after a clip of him putting his hands around the neck of the son of his girlfriend, Nevaeh Akira. Viewers shared the video on social media and raised concerns about the child’s safety. The rapper has a popular Kick channel named bluesclues124, where he livestreams his daily life with family and friends. On August 2, 2026, he was hanging out with his girlfriend and her son from a previous relationship.
At one point in the stream, Blueface had the child in his arms and put his right hand around the minor’s neck. X user @thermalwya shared the moment when the rapper told the child that he was his stepfather:
“I’m your stepdaddy. Stop playing with me!”
The clip of this incident garnered a lot of criticism from viewers. Some even went as far as to claim the rapper should be arrested. Here are some general reactions to the video from X.

That said, fans defended Blueface, with some stating that people were making a big deal because the child was enjoying the banter with the rapper.

“You can tell lil bro be having fun a lot of yall was orphans and it shows,” claimed @Leem8xk.

“Wanna Get Popped?” Blueface’s Handling of Nevaeh’s Child Garners Backlash
The rapper Blueface has been in an on-and-off relationship with Nevaeh since November 2025 when she first appeared on his Kick stream. The two split up for a while in January 2026, but were back together next month. In February, they announced that Nevaeh was pregnant with his child. The couple went viral again on July 21, 2026, when Blueface apologized for cheating on Nevaeh with Chrisean Rock.
Amid all this controversy, the rapper is again under scrutiny for how he handled his girlfriend’s son during the August 2 livestream. On top of putting his hands around the child’s neck, he also jokingly threatened him, saying:
“Wanna get popped? (The giggling child said no.) That’s the right answer.”
When the child put his hands on the rapper’s neck, Blueface removed them and said:
“You think it’s a game? You’re thinking it’s a game. I’m your stepdaddy. Stop playing me.”
