On October 13, 2026, popular actor Bryan Cranston and several other Breaking Bad cast members, including Aaron Paul and Dean Norris, shared their condolences online over the recent passing of RJ Mitte, who played Walter White Jr. in the show. Cranston posted a picture of himself with Mitte and wrote about their first meeting and the “deep despair” he feels after hearing the news. The actor also stated that he loved his co-star. He wrote:

“We were texting each other just a few weeks ago – figuring out when we could meet for lunch. I don’t know if that lunch would have changed his future…But I do know that I loved him, and thoroughly enjoyed being with him throughout the years on the series, and after the spotlight on Breaking Bad dimmed… I’ll miss you, son.”

As we mentioned, Cranston was not the only one who spoke about the death of RJ Mitte. Former castmates Dean Norris and Aaron Paul also shared their grief and spoke about their love for Mitte.

Dean Norris, who played Walter White’s brother-in-law in Breaking Bad, wrote in an X post on October 13, 2026:

“Oh my God! Was working [and] just found out about RJ. I am heartbroken. Though RJ didn’t play my TV son, I always looked out for him as a young kid on set. He was a sweetheart of a young man and will be greatly missed.”

Additionally, another big name from the show, Aaron Paul, stated that he will miss RJ in a shared statement with The Hollywood Reporter:

“I am at a loss. I am heartbroken over this news. RJ, I love you my friend. You will be missed.”
