GTA 6’s age ratings point to plenty of sex, drugs and graphic violence, but players hoping to blow their robbery money at a casino could be out of luck.
Rockstar has already shown off a sprawling list of activities in GTA 6’s Netflix Extended Look, including basketball, kayaking and trips to the shooting range. However, the game’s ratings suggest gambling might not make the cut.
As spotted by GTAVice, the classifications currently displayed for GTA 6 lack a gambling descriptor, despite flagging several other types of adult content.
That suggests playable casino games could be absent from the base game, although the missing label is not confirmation that every form of betting has been ruled out.
RockstarGTA 6 ratings leave gambling off the table, but plenty of adult content
The ESRB’s official listing rates GTA 6 Mature 17+, citing blood and gore, intense violence, mature humor, nudity, strong language, strong sexual content, and drug and alcohol use. Nothing really unexpected.
Interestingly, the PEGI rating does not have a “gambling” descriptor despite Red Dead Redemption, RDR2, Red Dead Online, and the PS5 release of GTA 5 carrying one.
Elsewhere, the ratings paint a considerably less restrained picture. A detailed PEGI page published before being removed described “detailed decapitation and dismemberment.”
That level of violence could also matter for creators uploading footage, following YouTube’s move to age-restrict certain graphic gaming videos, including content focused on torture or mass violence against non-combatants.
Rockstar GamesAdditionally, the listing says that while players can harm animals, they do “not produce the same injury detail that can be generated towards human characters.” Rockstar had already confirmed the existence of over 170 different animals, with some having “legendary” status.
The same description said players could carry cocaine and consume it directly from their hands at any time, alongside using drugs from their inventory.
GTA VI will also reportedly feature “occasional scenes of sexual fetishes,” which some players may have picked up on during a scene in the Extended Look.
For now, the ratings suggest GTA 6 could let players lose their heads without giving them a blackjack table to lose their money at. Whether gambling appears in a future online component is a separate question these listings cannot answer.
