Former YouTuber Bryant Moreland, better known as EDP445, has been arrested and charged with sex crimes in Bakersfield, California. The reported arrest marks a major legal development in the case that ended his online career in 2021.
The news comes months after the release of The Sick Mind of EDP445, a documentary by Mike Clum featuring an interview between Moreland and To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen.
The film revisits the 2021 sting operation and explores further allegations involving minors, prompting the Kern County District Attorney’s Office to re-examine the case.
Moreland built a large following through Philadelphia Eagles rants and shock-value videos before Predator Poachers confronted him after he allegedly exchanged explicit messages with someone he believed was a 13-year-old girl. His YouTube channels were later removed, but he was not charged at the time.

KGET reports that EDP445 has now been arrested and charged in connection with sex crimes in Bakersfield. The development moves the case beyond the online allegations and failed investigations that previously surrounded him.
According to Chris Hansen, the Kern County District Attorney’s Office issued an arrest warrant for Bryant Moreland, better known as EDP445, and he was taken into custody near a dialysis clinic in the Las Vegas area.
Hansen said the Kern County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the arrest, with detectives traveling to Nevada to interview Moreland before extradition proceedings begin in the coming weeks.
Moreland previously faced allegations of soliciting and grooming an underage girl online, but the case stalled because of a lack of evidence.
Hansen said Moreland’s on-camera admissions in Mike Clum’s documentary, The Sick Mind of EDP445, gave prosecutors enough information to seek the warrant. The transcript does not identify the specific charges, bail amount, or next court date.
Moreland is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. Further details about the charges, court proceedings, and any response from Moreland or his representatives are expected as the case develops.
Earlier allegations and failed cases never reached court
The most well-known case against EDP began in April 2021, when Alex Rosen and the Predator Poachers used an adult decoy posing as a 13-year-old girl.
Moreland arrived at a Bakersfield apartment complex and was confronted on camera over the messages. The encounter became known as the “cupcake incident” after he claimed he was there to pick up a cupcake.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office investigated the confrontation, but no charges were filed.
Reporting later pointed to problems with the civilian-run sting, evidence handling, and cooperation with investigators. The YouTuber also faced earlier allegations involving conversations with underage girls in 2020, while a separate 2023 sting involving JiDion and Skeeter Jean did not produce reported charges.
