Fox News host Laura Ingraham shared her thoughts on Gavin Newsom calling Donald Trump’s remarks “dangerous.”

On October 6, 2026, Governor Gavin Newsom responded to comments Donald Trump made at a rally in Nebraska. Talking about the U.S.-Iran war, the president suggested that Californian cities like Los Angeles and San Diego could be ‘taken out.’ He said it was a “small price to pay” to keep America safe. He said:
“It’s a small price to pay for keeping the world safe, keeping our country safe. They can take out a city. Let them take out Los Angeles, let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay. And it’s going to be over with very soon. It’s essentially almost over with. They might keep going a little long… It’s gonna end very soon, and it’ll end one way or the other.”
Governor Newsom called these remarks “dangerous” on X. He also said he was actively monitoring the situation, since he did not want “foreign actors” to interpret his comments as an invitation to attack Californian cities. He wrote:
“Donald Trump’s remarks were dangerous — if not treasonous — putting a target on two of our biggest cities and one of America’s largest naval hubs. I am directing the State Threat Assessment Center to actively monitor the situation in the event that foreign actors interpret the President’s remarks as an invitation to target California.”
Fox News host Laura Ingraham then shared her thoughts on Newsom’s comments. She urged the governor to listen to the entire clip of Trump’s remarks, suggesting it added context. Ingraham wrote:
“Disingenuous post. Next time listen to the entire clip.”

U.S. Representative Nancy Pelosi shared her thoughts on Donald Trump’s remarks. Suggesting that the president should not be “frivolous with the weight of his office,” Pelosi appeared to condemn the remarks. Stating that Trump “has gone beyond the pale,” she wrote this on X:
“The words of an American President weigh a ton. He must not be frivolous with the weight of his office. Donald Trump has gone beyond the pale saying Iran can ‘take out’ Los Angeles and San Diego. How could he say the slaughter of Americans is a ‘small price to pay’? The American people expect much more of a U.S. President.”
