Clint Evans, also known as Maven, announced his departure from his role as commentator in the Call of Duty League.

Maven, whose real name is Clint Evans, has decided to step away from the Call of Duty League. Evans is a well-known commentator, but recent revelations have led him to rethink his plans. The former commentator shared in an X post that the main reason behind his decision was that he is currently dating Maurisa, the ex-wife of his co-commentator, Joe ‘MerK’ DeLuca.
“I’ll be stepping away from the CDL for the foreseeable future. As some of you know, I was very close to my casting partner Joe and his family. Maurisa was one of my best friends. We remained friends, after they divorced, and along the way it became more than that and we started dating. I understand how unconventional/taboo it is. It’s truly not something I ever foresaw happening. I hope that one day I’ll be back working on the CDL. If not, it was a h*ll of a ride, and I appreciate the love over the years. Please continue to show support to Joe, the CDL, and its talent!”
Evans ultimately decided it was for the best to step away to avoid any awkward interactions with MerK. The casting duo began their working relationship all the way back in 2019. They provided commentary for Call of Duty matches, and viewers enjoyed their work.

In his post, Maven is still holding on to hope to return to work, but he is satisfied with his tenure. He admits that he grew close to MerK, as well as his family, during their time together in the Call of Duty League. Maven also admits that he never expected to be in a relationship with his friend’s ex-wife, and stepped down from his role out of respect and to prevent any awkward interactions.
