To trigger the Ever Beneath the Waves quest in Genshin Impact, go straight east from the Sretomorozsk’s Teleport Waypoint until you see a shipwreck. There, you will hear a Voice Beneath the Ice asking for help. Assist the mysterious person in bringing their wooden cabin to shore to complete the mission.

The key to completing the Ever Beneath the Waves quest in Genshin Impact and properly bringing the wooden cabin to shore is knowing that you can build the Grappling Gun on water surfaces. The Grappling Gun will pull the house because it has a hook on top.
For the most part, the game tells you where to put the Grappling Gun, but for me, the pulling process was a little bit clunky, so I had to use extra Grappling Guns to get the house through tight spaces. Pay attention to which angle and spot you’re placing the Grappling Gun on, and make sure there’s a line indicator on the hook, which means the Gun can reach the hook.
First, put the Grappling Gun following the quest marker.
Build a second Grappling Gun on the water, in front of the Grappling Gun near the shipwreck.
Keep pulling the wooden cabin to shore by building a Grappling Gun.
Finally, put a Grappling Gun on the water surface, near where the quest tells you to put the final Grappling Gun.
If you feel like the house is stuck in a weird position, you can reset the position by relogging.
After helping the Wooden House on Ice, the person inside will reveal their name as Chulkaturin, albeit not showing themselves. You will get a Precious Chest as a thank you, along with these quest-completion rewards:
- Adventure EXP x250
- Primogem x30
- Mora x20,000
- Hero’s Wit x2
- Mystic Enhancement Ores x3
Ever Beneath The Waves Quest Location In Genshin Impact
After hearing the Voice Beneath the Ice, you must find the source of the voice. Paimon mentions that the voice is under the ice, so your first instinct may be to look around the ship for some hidden entrances, or melt the ice all around it, but the quest is not related to the shipwreck at all.
Instead, you need to find a block of ice in the middle of a breakable ice surface. The hint for this is written in the quest description, which reads:
A strange block of ice floats upon the water. A mysterious voice comes to you over a pipe system, claiming that there is a wooden cabin hanging upside down beneath the ice. Clear the brash ice nearby, and you might cause the cabin to show its true form…
Find a large pipe that’s stuck on a block of ice. Around the area are some explosive barrels, so it’s hard to miss.
Once nearby, you’ll trigger a dialogue where the Voice Beneath the Ice asks the duo to stop and help. The first step to helping this mysterious person is to clear the brash ice in the area.
You can do this by hitting the ice with heavy weapon hits or Pyro attacks. The explosive barrels on the ice will also help; just be careful not to die from the explosion’s AoE.
Once you clear the ice, the block of ice will sink, revealing a house on top.
