All Purple Puzzle Solutions in Big Walk

The purple gourd puzzles are some of the toughest endgame puzzles in Big Walk. These puzzles take familiar mechanics from earlier puzzles in the game and add a trickier twist. There are seven purple gourds to find, meaning there are seven of these puzzles.

Most of these puzzles are found in the southern part of the island and become much easier once the chair lift and tunnels are available. This guide explains where to find all seven purple gourd puzzles and how to complete each one without wasting time in Big Walk.

Purple Gourd Puzzle 1: Golf Course Arrow Return

The golf challenge is one of the most time-consuming purple gourd puzzles, especially if only two people are playing. The objective is not simply to put a ball into a nearby hole. Instead, a heavy puzzle ball needs to be transported back to the location associated with the original golf puzzle. One player should ideally handle the ball while another moves ahead to operate the necessary controls.

Solution

  • Follow the arrow from the purple gourd puzzle until reaching the original golf puzzle area.
  • Pick up the heavy golf ball.
  • Carry the ball toward the train and use it to cross the first gap.
  • Have one player move ahead while the other carries the ball.
  • Use the drawbridge to cross the next section, coordinating with the player operating the controls.
  • Continue carrying the ball toward the purple gourd area.
  • Take the ball up the hill and place it in the hole to complete the puzzle.

Avoid dropping the ball whenever possible, as recovering it can add a lot of unnecessary travel time.

Purple Gourd Puzzle 2: The 30 Minute Timer

Big Walk 30 Minute Timer

The purple timer puzzle is probably the simplest challenge to understand, and at the same time also annoying since players have to complete it by simply standing around.

This puzzle is a variant of the earlier five-minute timer puzzle, except the waiting period is extended to 30 minutes.

Solution

  • Enter the room containing the timer.
  • Press the button to start the 30-minute countdown.
  • Wait once the timer starts.
  • Collect the purple gourd reward once the challenge is complete.

Purple Gourd Puzzle 3: Double House Tile Puzzle

This puzzle takes the familiar Double House Tile challenge and removes the easiest method of communication. In the earlier variant, players could use windows to describe where lights were located. The purple version removes those windows, forcing both players to establish a new communication system.

Solution

  • One player enters the room containing the lights.
  • The other player stays in the room with the buttons and communication light.
  • Establish a numbering system for the light positions before starting.
  • The player with the lights identifies the location of a lit light.
  • The player with the buttons asks simple questions to narrow down its position.
  • Use the communication light to answer questions. One flash can be used for “yes,” while two flashes can mean “no.”
  • Repeat the process for the remaining lights.

Purple Gourd Puzzle 4: Speaker and Sound Booth Puzzle

Big Walk Speaker and Sound Booth Puzzle Variant

This version of the sound booth puzzle removes the intercom. Earlier speaker puzzles allow players to communicate what they hear, but in the purple gourd version, you have to get creative.

One player has to listen to the sounds or melodies while the other player needs to understand which sound is being described. Since normal communication is restricted, physical gestures become the solution.

Solution

  • One player enters the area with the speakers and listens to the sounds.
  • The other player stays on the opposite side of the glass.
  • Since there is no intercom, use the glass to communicate.
  • Tap the rhythm of the sound or melody against the glass.
  • Use upward and downward hand movements to indicate changes in pitch.
  • Repeat the rhythm until the other player recognizes the correct sound.

Purple Gourd Puzzle 5: Symbol Posing Puzzle

The purple posing puzzle changes the familiar gesture challenge by replacing the usual signs with abstract symbols. Instead of simply performing recognizable poses, players need to communicate symbols such as spirals, snowman shapes, lowercase letters, and other unusual designs.

Solution

  • Enter the puzzle area and look at the symbol that needs to be reproduced.
  • Use the available posing and gesture mechanics to recreate the symbol.
  • When verbal descriptions are difficult, use the glass as a drawing surface.
  • Draw the symbol with a hand or finger, so the other player can see its shape.
  • Reproduce symbols such as spirals, snowman shapes, letters, and other abstract designs.
  • Make the drawings large and slow enough for the other player to recognize.
  • Continue until all required symbols have been matched.

Purple Gourd Puzzle 6: Timed Obstacle Course

The purple obstacle course is another challenge that looks familiar but introduces new complications. The course itself is essentially the same as the earlier obstacle challenge, but this time a tomato timer is waiting at the beginning.

The timer adds pressure because the course now has to be completed within the available time.

Solution

  • Approach the obstacle course and activate the tomato timer.
  • Move through the course as quickly as possible without rushing difficult jumps.
  • Follow the same route used in the regular version of the obstacle course.
  • Keep unnecessary equipment out of the way while navigating tight sections.
  • Use each obstacle as a checkpoint and focus on reaching the next section safely.
  • Avoid falling, as recovering from a failed jump can waste valuable time.
  • Reach the end of the course before the timer runs out.

Purple Gourd Puzzle 7: Symbol Sign Puzzle

The final purple gourd challenge takes the sign matching concept and dramatically increases the number of possible choices. The purple version has 36 different signs.

Solution

  • Enter the puzzle area and examine the available signs.
  • Look for the requested symbol among the 36 available options.
  • Carefully compare symbols that have similar shapes.
  • Describe each symbol using distinctive features such as curves, corners, loops, and lines.
  • Use nearby signs as reference points when explaining where a particular symbol is located.
  • Give unusual symbols simple nicknames based on their appearance.
  • Select the correct sign once both players agree on its identity.
  • Repeat the process until all required symbols have been matched.
