All August 2026 Free Games You Can Claim

August 2026’s free games are coming in hot and fast, so you need to act quickly to ensure you don’t miss out on anything you might want. Throughout the month, people can claim free games from Amazon Prime Gaming (aka Amazon Luna), Steam, Epic Games Store, IndieGala, and more, with the giveaways ranging from tiny indie titles with barely any name recognition to massive AAA projects that sound too big to be simply handed out.

Console users exist in entirely different ecosystems that do not accommodate freebies on the regular; however, PS5 and Xbox owners can at least look forward to the new games added to PS Plus and Game Pass. Both services typically add 10+ games per month, including huge titles like Beast of Reincarnation and Helldivers 2. Don’t miss out.

Deponia

Steam regularly hands out freebies, but they are usually small indie titles that aren’t particularly recognizable. Nothing wrong with that, as they need the exposure, but it’s always slightly exciting when a bigger name makes the cut. Deponia is a modern classic point and click game from the early 2010s, crafted by one of the masters of the genre, Daedalic Entertainment. If you have fond memories of playing LucasArts games, or are just in the mood for a fun adventure, Deponia is an easy recommendation. If nothing else, you should add it to your library.

Beholder Conductor (Mobile)

A surreal horror game that is quite highly regarded, Cat Named Mojave is a true fever dream that will linger in memory for a very long time.

Project First Contact

Epic Games Store is also handing out Project First Contact for a limited time, which seems to be a first-person horror game focusing on UFOs.

Amazon Luna / Prime Gaming (Requires Amazon Prime Membership)

Amazon Prime Gaming, aka Amazon Luna, is arguably the best source for free PC games, and they are available to anybody with an Amazon Prime subscription. You don’t need to be subscribed to any Luna tier to claim the dozen or so games that are constantly free, and they range from pretty small titles to fairly big ones like Steelrising and, in previous months, Mafia 3. New titles are added fairly randomly, so you should check it a couple of times a month to make sure you get everything you want.

Alienware Arena Giveaway (Steam)

While fairly rare, sites like Alienware and Legion occasionally hand out free games, and the giveaways typically last for as long as keys are available rather than being tied to a specific date. Consequently, you need to really act quickly to take advantage of these deals, as they won’t be around forever, and we cannot predict how long they will be available.

As long as you have 10 ARP points, you can claim Dwarven Realms from the Alienware Arena marketplace. Basically, you need to be an AWA user, and ARP points are earned through daily actions. 10 points should be fairly easy to collect.
