Use the Stone Key you find in the Cathedral Treasury to obtain The Hand of Fate sword and an Ancient Ring in The Blood of Dawnwalker. The letters and clues left behind might make it seem like nobody knows where that Stone Key is used, but by reading this, you can learn where to use it during the A Hero’s End quest.
Where To Use The Stone Key In The Blood Of Dawnwalker (A Hero’s End quest)
During A Hero’s End quest in The Blood of Dawnwalker, you’ll be able to use the Stone Key to unlock a hidden coffin inside the Ancient Ruin.
Even though the In the Name of the Father quest helps initiate the A Hero’s End quest, it is not a requirement to unlock the Ruin. On the barrel next to Father Florin, you can find the Ancient Key to unlock it without his assistance, so help yourself and take it. If you choose to face off against Father Florin, don’t worry; you can still explore the Ancient Ruin and find the hidden coffin to unlock it.
After unlocking the Ancient Ruins, head inside and do the following to locate the Stone Key’s hidden chest:
- Make sure it is night.
- Pick up the Ancient Key on the barrel.
- Squeeze yourself between the walls.
- Defeat the Ancient Guardian inside.
- Move left.
- Walk up to the end of the road.
- Turn left again.
- Use the Shadowstep Ability to enter the gap in the ground without dying.
- Move forward.
- Use Shadowstep again to climb up the wall at the end.
- Move forward.
- Shadowstep north towards the open door.
- Defeat the Kobolds.
Afterward, head inside the room and use the Stone Key to unlock the coffin inside. Inside, you may find the following rewards:
- Ancient Hero’s Ring
- The Hand of Fate Shortsword
- Silver Mug
- Ancient Healing Salve
Stone Key Location In The Blood Of Dawnwalker
To Find the Stone Key in The Blood of Dawnwalker, do this:
- Get the Treasury Key from inside The Cathedral Complex Belltower.
- Enter the northern garden of the Cathedral.
- Use the Treasury Key to unlock the Cathedral Treasury in The Blood of Dawnwalker.
- Enter the second door.
- Turn left.
- Interact with the bookshelf.
- Push it to reveal a hidden room.
- Climb the ladder down and open the hatch.
- Use Focus Mode.
- Inspect the yellow/golden-hued items.
The Stone Key will be on the stone in front of the cross. Don’t forget to loot the Treasury to get more Silver Valuables, which you can exchange for Denarius at the Silver Merchant in Svartau City in The Blood of Dawnwalker.
