Link starts with a Pocket Egg, then it becomes a chaotic trading sequence from the Pocket Egg > Pocket Cucco > Cojiro > Odd Mushroom > Odd Poultice > Poacher’s Saw > Broken Goron Sword > Prescription > Eyeball Frog > Specialty Eye Drops > Biggoron Receipt, all for the Biggoron Sword! While this is quite the lengthy fetch quest, we’ll make sure the process is as simple as can be with the guide below.
Before you begin, it’s vital that you have Epona unlocked, so click the guide above to unlock Link’s horse for travel!
From a Pocket Egg Comes… Full Quest Walkthrough
Starting the Quest
When you’re Adult Link, head to Kakariko Village. You can head southwest to find the Cucco Lady, who will ask you to check out an egg. Upon speaking with her, you will be gifted the Pocket Egg.
Hatch the Pocket Egg & Use the Pocket Cucco
You can hatch the Pocket Egg after one in-game day, so either complete other tasks to pass the time or use the Sun’s Song twice, as this will cause the Pocket Egg to become the Pocket Cucco. Now, you need to use the Pocket Cucco on a deep sleeper.
Head into the north house where you can find Talon sleeping on a bed. Use ZR with the Pocket Cucco, and the noise will wake Talon up and cause him to sprint off to Lon Lon Ranch.
Trade the Pocket Cucco for Cojiro
Return to the Cucco Lady and give her back the Pocket Cucco, as she will give you the rare blue cucco, Cojiro. You’ve now been tasked with finding the Cucco Lady’s Brother and delivering Cojiro to him.
Deliver Cojiro to the Cucco Lady’s Brother to Get the Odd Mushroom
Now that you have Cojiro, leave Kakariko Village and head back to Kokiri Forest. You will find the Cucco Lady’s Brother in the Lost Woods. When you enter, immediately turn left and use Cojiro in front of him, where you can now trade it for an Odd Mushroom.
Deliver the Odd Mushroom to Granny’s Cauldron to Get the Odd Poultice
When you get the Odd Mushroom, you will have 4 minutes to deliver it to Granny’s Cauldron at Kakariko Village. This is an easy journey, so just exit the Lost Woods by going in any direction to teleport back to Kokiri Forest, then take Epona and ride to Kakariko Village.
Once you’re here, head through the southwest shop and enter through the back door. You can then take a right in this garden area to find the Granny’s Cauldron shop. When facing the old woman, present the Odd Mushroom to get the Odd Poultice.
Deliver the Odd Poultice to Get the Poacher’s Saw
With the Odd Poultice, return to Kokiri Forest, as you’ll need to go back to the Lost Woods where you met the Cucco Lady’s Brother (left path). However, you won’t find him! Instead, he’s been replaced with Fado, so show her the Odd Poultice and give it to her, as she’ll trade you the Poacher’s Saw.
Deliver the Poacher’s Saw for the Broken Goron’s Sword
This is the part where you will need Epona, as you’ll have to head west of Hyrule Field to reach Gerudo Valley, which has an inaccessible bridge that can only be crossed with the horse.
From the other side of the bridge, interact with the Master Craftsman in the west and accept his quest for “Missing in the Desert”. You won’t need to progress the quest, so just accept it and show him the Poacher’s Saw to get the Broken Goron’s Sword.
Deliver the Broken Goron’s Sword to Biggoron
With the Broken Goron’s Sword, return to Kakariko Village and make your way up Death Mountain Trail. You need to reach the top to find Biggoron, who is currently crying. Show him the Broken Goron’s Sword, and he will give you a Prescription for some Eye Drops, as he can’t work without them.
Free King Zora and Get the Eyeball Frog
You now need to head to Zora’s Domain to find King Zora, but unfortunately, he’s frozen in red ice. You need to take a detour to Zora’s Fountain, where you can enter the Ice Cavern and fill an Empty Bottle with Blue Fire to free him.
Once freed, show King Zora the Prescription, and he will give you the Eyeball Frog to take to the scientist at the Lakeside Laboratory, but this next step is also on a time limit.
Deliver the Eyeball Frog to Get the Specialty Eye Drops
You have 2 minutes and 30 seconds to reach Hyrule Lake, but don’t worry, there’s plenty of time. Head north of Zora’s Domain to leave, then jump into the water directly south and dive into the cave to reach a shortcut to the Lost Woods.
Immediately take a left, and you’ll enter the Kokiri Forest, where you can then travel through to Hyrule Field and ride Epona (with Epona’s Song) south to Lake Hylia. The Lakeside Laboratory is on your right, so enter it and show the scientist the Eyeball Frog to get the Specialty Eye Drops.
Deliver the Specialty Eye Drops to Biggoron
You are now on a 3-minute and 30-second timer to go from Lake Hylia to the top of Death Mountain, but with Epona, this is easy! Return to Hyrule Field and ride to Kokiri Forest to enter the Lost Woods. Turn right, left, then straight to reach a shortcut to Goron City.
Now, follow the Death Mountain Trail to the top and deliver the Specialty Eye Drops to Biggoron so that he can work his forge in peace. This will reward you with the Biggoron Receipt, but you can’t do anything with it yet.
Exchange the Biggoron Receipt for the Biggoron Sword
With the Biggoron Receipt, wait 3 in-game days. This process is made faster if you spam the Sun’s Song at least 7 times:

Now, present the Biggoron Receipt to Biggoron, and he will trade you for the Biggoron Sword. This finally completes the long quest, but it’s well worth it, as the Biggoron Sword is a two-handed weapon for those who prefer dodging to blocking, and it deals more damage than the Master Sword!
