United States Representative Jamie Raskin took to social media to talk about how the House Democrats are making a change.
Following the victory of the Democratic Party in the recent midterm elections, Representative Jamie Raskin made a promise to the people. On his personal X account, the representative laid the groundwork for what the American people can expect. Among the many things the House Democrats are planning to change is the reinvention of the government.
“House Democrats are in the fight to bring government back from the brink of authoritarianism. We will shine a light on President Trump’s quid pro quo, coin-operated, pay-to-play corruption and renew American government as an instrument for the common good.”
Raskin represents Maryland’s 8th District and leads Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee. He was the lead impeachment manager in Trump’s 2021 Senate trial and sat on the Jan. 6 committee. He also served as Oversight’s ranking Democrat, probing foreign payments to Trump’s Washington hotel. The former constitutional law professor wrote a memoir, “Unthinkable,” about 2021.

Representative Jamie Raskin Calls for Accountability and an End to Political Corruption
With gavels arriving in January, Raskin wants the judiciary to examine crypto, pardon, and payout deals. He also targets a $1.7 billion fund for Trump allies, calling it a slush fund. He has urged a “sweeping de-Trumpification” of the Justice Department instead of impeachment. He also wants to restore Medicaid funding and Affordable Care Act credits cut under Trump.
On the other hand, fellow Democrat Hakeem Jeffries told MS NOW that he is fighting for an affordable America, but Twitch streamer Hasan Piker quickly noted that the people are also looking for accountability and justice. Representative Jamie Raskin says he is eager to work with fellow Democrats to renew government for every American.
