GTA 6 fan who went viral for hoping to live long enough to play the game has died

A 25-year-old GTA 6 fan who captured the attention of the gaming community after sharing his wish to live long enough to play Rockstar Games’ upcoming title has died.

The fan had been battling interstitial lung disease since he was 17 years old, with his condition eventually deteriorating to the point that he needed a lung transplant.

His family confirmed that he died on October 29, 2026, following a series of infections and worsening health complications, just months after supporters rallied around his story and raised thousands of dollars to help with his medical treatment.

In a TikTok update shared on November 2, a family member revealed that he had developed a severe infection several weeks before his death, causing his lungs to fill with blood.

Doctors reportedly informed the family that he was unlikely to survive and presented hospice care as an option. However, he initially chose to continue treatment, remaining on life support equipment that included ECMO, a machine used to support heart and lung function.

His condition continued to deteriorate, and on October 28, he told his family that he was ready to stop fighting.

The following morning, his loved ones received a call informing them that another infection had developed overnight. His blood work had worsened, and his organs were beginning to shut down.

Family members returned to his bedside, where they found that he was no longer responsive as he had been the previous day.

“He was peaceful. He was at peace. He was peaceful. He was so peaceful,” the family member said. “And he’s no longer fighting. He’s no longer hurting. He’s no longer struggling.”

His mother, Paris Fort, had previously organized a GoFundMe campaign titled “Help My Son Reach His Lung Transplant,” seeking financial assistance for his treatment and recovery.

The fundraiser explained that he had been living with interstitial lung disease for eight years and needed a transplant after his condition worsened.

Donations were intended to help cover transplant-related expenses, relocation, and recovery costs. The campaign ultimately raised more than $96,000 from approximately 5,000 donations, far exceeding its original $15,000 goal.

In the announcement of his death, the family thanked supporters for helping make his final months memorable.

“He was so happy. He felt like his dreams were coming true, and he wanted to give back like y’all gave to him,” the family member explained.

Beyond his wish to play GTA 6, he had also hoped to share his music with a wider audience.

“All he wanted was to push his music out and to be known and for people to hear his voice,” the family member said.

His family is now planning a balloon release for supporters, although a date has not yet been announced.

The video concluded with another message of appreciation for everyone who supported him throughout his medical battle.

“Thank y’all for making his last few months beautiful.”
