American politician James Talarico talks about the upcoming midterm elections and shares what he is fighting for.
Days before the midterm elections, Democratic candidate James Talarico shared what he is fighting for and who his biggest opponents are. In a recent campaign rally, the candidate expressed his hope for the future and shared his drive to win the election. He is currently facing off against Ken Paxton, his political rival from the Republican Party.
“We are literally going up against the richest man in the world. This election is a battle between the powers that be and the powers that ought to be. The powers that be have chosen their candidate. They have bought and paid for Ken Paxton. But we are standing with the powers that ought to be—the teachers and the nurses, the farmers and the ranchers, the grandmother who is facing eviction, the little boy waking up in the middle of the night from the lights of the data center, the small business owner who is trying to keep their family restaurant open. Those Texans are my team. They are why I am in this race. I want to be a senator for every Texan who can’t afford one.”
The candidate’s message remains the same as in his previous speeches and appearances. James Talarico is more concerned about providing for the people and solving problems.

James Talarico Talks About Going Up Against the Richest Man in the World
The upcoming midterm elections will take place on November 3, 2026, and Talarico expressed that he is fighting for the average American. Rather than serving only those with power or influence, Talarico intends to support ordinary folk. At one point, he even questioned Elon Musk taking advantage of the system to buy his personal US senator.
To wrap up his speech, James Talarico compared this battle to David and Goliath. He claims that he and his team are the underdogs of this story and will keep fighting the good fight to serve the people.
