In a resurfaced clip, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk does not want to provide an answer about a “ban on foreign students.” During an interview with CBS Sunday Morning on June 1, 2025, the businessman sat down and discussed tariffs and much more. The interviewer started by touching upon the businessman’s various projects and their focus on getting parts. However, the interviewer pivoted to an unrelated question about banning foreign students. The CEO politely asked to get back on track and just focus on “talking about spaceships.”

“Yeah, I mean, I think we want to stick to—you know, the subject of the day, which is like spaceships? As opposed to, you know, presidential policy.

The interviewer immediately backtracked and claimed he was informed that they can discuss any topic. However, Musk took a pause and reiterated that he would like to focus on his projects.

At the start of the interview, the reporter was curious about Elon Musk’s various projects, especially those within SpaceX. The businessman is hard at work to develop spaceships, and the reporter asked whether the tariff changes affected their progress. While the businessman admitted it did, he was caught off guard when the question came about foreign students.

The businessman froze for a moment and asked if the subject would remain focused on SpaceX and their progress. Elon Musk did not provide any further explanation as to why he refused to make a comment about the subject.
