On October 24, 2026, Donald Trump held a rally in Perry, Georgia. Among several topics, he discussed former President Barack Obama’s attendance in Detroit to support Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. In his speech, Trump noticed the press at the front and called them “fake news.” He then brought up their coverage of Obama’s crowd, claiming “the place was empty.” He said:
