Best Dual Pistol Build in Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 finally lets players dual wield pistols with its 2.5 update, and naturally, this opened up a lot of space for new akimbo builds. This playstyle varies a lot from the standard CP2077 pistol build, and it’s a ton of fun if you prefer an in-your-face type of playstyle. Here’s a quick guide covering all the important stuff you should have when using a dual wield build in this game.

Best Skills For Dual Wielding in Cyberpunk 2077

When dual-wielding pistols, you’ll be sacrificing range, precision, and a bit of raw firepower for faster fire rate, longer sustained bursts, and the ability to exploit synergies between two unique pistols. You’re going to have to go up close and personal if you want to take full advantage of dual wielding in Cyberpunk 2077, which means you’ll need to take skills that will let you survive for longer even when you’re under heavy fire.

Skill

Description

Double Trouble

Allows dual wielding. At level 2, allows you to perform a Heywood Hurricane, automatically firing both pistols for 1 second with a 50% increased bullet spread penalty. Ammo spent on successful hits are instantly refilled. Replaces Quick Melee.

Two Right Hands

-25% Stamina Cost when hipfiring while dual wielding, -20% Recoil, and -20% Bullet Spread when aiming while dual-wielding.

Triple Tequila

Gain +10% Mitigation Chance per enemy neutralized when dual wielding, stacking up to three times. Each stack lasts 15 seconds, and all stacks are consumed when performing a Heywood Hurricane, increasing its damage by 15% per stack.

Splash of Love

+50% fire rate for Heywood Hurricane. At max stacks of Triple Tequila, +1 sec. duration for Heywood Hurricane.

Keep ‘Em Comin’

+15 Stamina after neutralizing an enemy while dual wielding. +15 additional Stamina per stack of Triple Tequila.

Get all the other pistol skills to the left of the Cool tree as well. They’re all good, though some situational ones like Deep Breath and Pull! can be left out if you don’t like using them.

You can only dual wield in Cyberpunk 2077 once you put a skill point in Double Trouble. Put another point in it to unlock Heywood Hurricane, a special move that lets you unload on your enemies using both of your pistols for a short duration. Heywood Hurricane plays a big role in this build’s playstyle, so don’t ignore it.

The four small skill nodes connected to Double Trouble are all very good, and they’ll greatly enhance your outgoing DPS when wielding two pistols. Get them in descending order based on the list above.

Triple Tequila plays a big role in your survivability. Score kills while dual wielding to get up to +30% Mitigation Chance. Using Heywood Hurricane will eat all your Triple Tequila stacks, so you’ll want to save that for finishing off the last few enemies in a fight, or for dealing burst damage to a boss or similar tough enemy.

Skill

Description

Painkiller

Unlocks slow health regen in combat

Adrenaline Rush (3/3)

Gain +35 Health, +20% Health Regen bonus to all sources, and Adrenaline Rush, which adds additional health as Adrenaline when you use healing items and the Blood Pump cyberware.

Juggernaut

Gain +10% Damage and 20% Movement Speed while Blood Rush is active.

Adrenaline Rush greatly increases your survivability during intense face-to-face fights, especially once you install a Blood Pump into your system. With this skill, you’ll get Adrenaline on top of your usual health, which acts as a buffer that absorbs damage. Think of it like a second health bar.

Since Adrenaline Rush triggers when you heal, you’ll end up restoring your health and get additional health as Adrenaline at the same time. With Juggernaut, you’ll get bonus damage and movement speed that will allow you to chain kills more quickly for stacking Triple Tequila.

Body is a low-priority attribute for this build. Focus on Cool and Technical Ability first, then decide if you want Body or Reflexes next. In the meantime, take the small nodes surrounding Painkiller first.

Skill

Description

Glutton for War

Instantly recharge 5% of your health item cooldown after neutralizing an enemy.

Health Freak (1/2)

+8% recharge speed of health items and grenades.

All Things Cyber (2/2)

+10% for all cyberware stat modifiers and -20% Cyberware Capacity cost for the Integumentary System and Skeleton.

Renaissance Punk

+4 Cyberware Capacity for every Attribute at 9 or higher.

License to Chrome

+10% for all cyberware stat modifiers, +40 Armor, and unlocks a new cyberware slot for your Skeleton. All Skeleton cyberware have boosted stats.

Cyborg

15% reduced cooldown for all cyberware if all slots are filled.

Extended Warranty

+15% cyberware effect duration.

Edgerunner

Allows you to exceed your Cyberware Capacity at the cost of -0.5% max health per point over capacity. Neutralizing an enemy has a chance to make you enter the Fury state, which significantly increases your damage.

Edgerunner enables so many builds for Cyberpunk 2077, and we’ll be using it to go all-out with this one in the Cyberware section below. All the other skills here are pretty self-explanatory: you’ll want to get as much value as you can from your cyberware (especially active effects like Kerenzikov, Defensikov, and Sandevistan).

Reflex Skills (Reflex 20)

Skill

Description

Slippery

Deal more damage the faster you’re moving. Effect increases when dashing, dodging, sliding, sprinting, and vaulting.

Multitasker

You can shoot while sprinting, sliding, and vaulting.

Dash (2/2)

-20% Stamina cost for dodging and dashing, and replaces Dodge with the Dash ability.

Mad Dash

100% dash range toward enemies.

Can’t Touch This

100% Mitigation Chance when dashing.

Steady Grip

Allows you to shoot while dashing.

Air Dash (3/3)

-20% dash stamina cost, +20% dash speed, and unlocks the ability to dash midair.

Aerodynamic

+30% Mitigation Strength in midair.

Tailwind

+25 Stamina from performing Air Dashes and double jumps.

This is the bare minimum Reflex setup I take on pretty much all of my non-stealth builds in Cyberpunk 2077. They make you very hard to hit, and they make on-foot exploration much easier as well. Feel free to take other skills, like Parkour or Muscle Memory if you want to increase your overall quality-of-life.

The Apogee Sandevistan is the preferred OS for this build simply due to its damage bonuses. Activate it to get six seconds of hyperspeed padded with bonus crit chance, crit damage, and headshot damage. While your Sandevistan is cooling down, the rest of the cyberware will come into play:

  • Kerenzikov is a Sandevistan-lite that slows time if you aim while sliding or dashing. Activating it also triggers Defenzikov for more Mitigation Chance, and Kerenzikov Boost System, which eliminates Stamina costs for shooting.
  • Biomonitor and Blood Pump will keep you alive while Kerenzikov and Sandevistan are down. As long as you play carefully according to your Blood Pump’s cooldown and Adrenaline Rush’s uptime, you won’t have to worry about getting gunned down or sliced apart.

All the other cyberware are self-explanatory. Just make sure they’re Cool or Technical Ability Attuned so you get more meaningful stats out of them.

You can always swap the Mitigation cyberware for Armor ones if you find them unreliable.

Weapons

The 2.5 update buffed Jackie’s pistol, La Chingona Dorada, in Cyberpunk 2077. Now, this pistol will replenish ammo for its paired pistol whenever you score headshots with it while dual wielding. This makes it a no-brainer for builds like this, especially with its bonus to crit damage.

Thankfully, this dual wield build for Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t really strict when it comes to weapon choices. Some fun picks I’d recommend include:

  • Dual Lexingtons with the Pinpoint mod are surprisingly good if you don’t mind spending tons of ammo. The unique Dying Night pistol is particularly effective since it can Shock enemies. Pair it with another Lexington with a Pyro mod or the Firecracker Chimera mod.
  • Dual Overture revolvers are also very powerful. Heywood Hurricane replenishes bullets if they hit, which means you can fire more than six shots with your Overtures. Amnesty deserves a special mention here for its headshot and crit damage bonuses.
