Subway is bringing back its Fritos Chicken Enchilada Sub for the first time in 12 years, alongside a returning dessert and a buy one, get one free Footlong sandwich promotion.
The chain announced the return on October 21 as part of its National Sandwich Day celebration, which it is moving up a week to avoid overlapping with the US midterm elections on November 3.
Subway will instead celebrate National Sandwich Day on October 27, giving customers an early opportunity to try the returning menu items and take advantage of a limited-time deal.

The Fritos Chicken Enchilada Sub is returning to Subway menus for the first time since 2014 after requests from customers and franchisees.
The sandwich features rotisserie-style chicken marinated in enchilada sauce, topped with crunchy Fritos corn chips and Baja Chipotle sauce. It also includes Monterey Cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and red onions.
“The enchilada sauce brings depth, the chipotle adds a little heat and the Fritos deliver that signature crunch,” said Paul Fabre, Subway’s SVP of Culinary Innovation.
SubwaySubway is also bringing back its Caramel Apple Cookie, which was last available in 2021.
The dessert features apple pieces, caramel chips, and salted caramel crunch, finished with a drizzle of caramel icing.
Both returning items will be available for a limited time, although Subway has not announced exactly when they will leave the menu.

“Especially with the Fritos Chicken Enchilada Sub making a comeback that our fans and franchisees have been asking for. So, we’re giving sandwiches their own day in the spotlight, one week early. Consider this permission to listen to your SUBconscious. Apparently, it’s been asking for Fritos.”
Alongside the returning menu items, Subway is offering a buy one, get one free Footlong sandwich promotion from October 27 through November 8.
The deal is available to new and existing Sub Club rewards members who order through the Subway app or website at participating US locations.
Eligible members will automatically receive the offer in their Subway app wallets, allowing them to purchase one Footlong sandwich and receive a second of equal or lesser value for free.
However, there are some restrictions. The promotion excludes the Fresh Fit, 5 Meat Italian, and Big Hot Pastrami sandwiches, and customers must pay extra for additional toppings and applicable taxes.
The offer can only be redeemed once per order and cannot be combined with other promotions. It is also unavailable through third-party delivery services.
Customers who want to take advantage of the promotion can sign up for Subway’s free Sub Club rewards program through the chain’s app or website.
The promotion will remain active through November 8, meaning customers can still participate on November 3, the actual date of National Sandwich Day.
