Two teenagers are under investigation in Germany after allegedly livestreaming a robot touching a 16-year-old girl’s buttocks and making thrusting motions against her.
Police in Cologne seized the Ironman-looking robot following an incident outside a fast-food restaurant on the night leading into Sunday, October 11.
The suspects, aged 16 and 19, allegedly filmed the encounter, broadcast it live on social media and provided commentary as it happened. They were subsequently arrested by the police, according to Metro.
Investigators are now examining how the robot was operating and whether someone deliberately controlled its movements.

According to the Cologne police statement, the girl was standing with two friends outside a restaurant at the corner of Palmstraße and Hohenzollernring shortly before midnight.
The red and gold robot, which stood approximately 3’11 feet tall, reportedly approached her from behind before touching her buttocks and making thrusting motions against her. Video of the alleged incident has been circulating on X and TikTok.
Police identified the younger suspect as the robot’s owner, a 16-year-old from Wegberg. His 19-year-old companion is also under investigation.
Officers located those involved nearby a short time later. They found the robot in the boot of a Volkswagen, where its owner had placed it, and confiscated the device alongside two mobile phones belonging to the suspects.
AFP reporting carried by German outlet n-tv said the investigation concerns a suspected insult of a sexual nature.
Police have not established whether the robot’s movements were deliberately directed during the alleged incident.
