Twitch streamer Hasan Piker stated that it is “perfectly valid” to display a framed newspaper covering the September 11 attacks.
On October 10, 2026, Hasan Piker defended himself, explaining why it’s okay to frame a picture of a 9/12 newspaper in his streaming setup. The progressive Twitch streamer constantly gets backlash for his controversial comments regarding the September 11 attacks. He had displayed a newspaper headline from September 12 that covered the national tragedy, which was condemned by several conservative figures, including Laura Loomer.
In his recent stream, Piker defended himself, stating that it is “perfectly valid.” Calling himself a “politics enjoyer,” the progressive streamer said it represents a “massively consequential historical event.” He said:
“That’s perfectly valid for someone who is a news and politics enjoyer and commentator to have behind them. It’s a massively consequential historical event… It’s basically like the right-wing version of follow policing almost, where it’s like you don’t ever know why someone is following an account for what reason.”
Piker then addressed people who allege that he is “celebrating” the tragic event. Denying rumors that he is doing so, the Twitch streamer said the entire world changed after the September 11 attacks. He said:
“And these guys don’t know why I put up that newspaper framed behind me, so they make up reasons for it. They’re like, ‘Oh, he’s celebrating 9/11; it’s very clear.’ No, I’m not. It is the most consequential singular event of all of our lifetimes… Only you get to talk about it?… The entire world changed after 9/11… It’s not like I posted a photo of Osama bin Laden on my wall or some ****.”
On October 10, 2026, YouTuber Actual Justice Warrior shared his thoughts on Hasan Piker’s justification. He mentioned that Piker’s Fear& podcast co-host and fellow streamer QTCinderella gifted him the newspaper that covered the September 11 attacks. He alleged that the progressive commentator “supports terrorism.” On X, he wrote:
“He is famous for saying America deserved 9/11. His podcast co-host, as an on-air bit, gifted him an image of the Towers Burning because of his support for terrorism. He then framed it on his wall with other trophies & announced it as a big victory. It’s because he supports terrorism.”
