Best Racer Style for the Podracer

Ody Mandrell is the best podracer to use for Podracing Tours, as he has the Redliner Racer Style. Here’s what that entails:

• Extra Fuel – Ody Mandrell starts with the Surge Ability installed, which gives you a huge boost when using the Ability.
• Critical Ramjet Power – While Redlining, Ramjet is more powerful, which means even more speed when holding down the Ramjet (R3 + X/A).
• Early Warning – Redlining zone increased by 100%, which means more time spent using the Ramjet for more speed!

Best Podracer Upgrades to Vehicle Stats

Ramjet, Cornering, and Afterburner are your three most important stats for the Podracer. I’d invest more in Ramjet than the other two stats, because that’s your main method of speed. Here’s why:

• Ramjet will increase the power of the Ramjet boost function, allowing you to exceed high speeds.
• Cornering will make it easier for you to turn the vehicle around sharp bends and keep your speed intact while other racers fumble or brake.
• Afterburner will maintain your acceleration and speed, so any speed lost on corners is quickly recovered so you can maintain the lead.

If you have points left to take, 1 or 2 in Energy is also a good idea, as this will allow you to increase your Max Energy so you can use Surge more often, as you can only use it three times by default. I try to use 1 Surge every lap.

Best Installed Parts for the Podracer

The Podracer can have four parts installed, but considering there’s a lot of RNG involved in what parts you will obtain throughout the Podracing Tour, you might struggle to find the ones suggested below. Regardless, you should focus on Podracer parts that increase the power and potency of the Ramjet, Redlining, and Surging:

• Heat Reduction IV will cause the Ramjet to generate 30% less heat, which is essential for using the Ramjet for longer.
• Optimized Surge III will make Surging 100% more potent, which doubles the power of your Surge Ability.
• Surging Alarm III will grant Surging for 20 seconds when Redlining, which you’ll be doing frequently with your Ramjet.
• Extending Alarm IV causes the Redlining duration to increase by 200%, which means more Ramjet and more Surging, which means far too much speed for your opponents to keep up with.

Best Abilities for the Podracer

Surge is the only ability you will need or want for the Podracer, because you’re not interested in taking other opponents out when you can simply leave them in the dust. Surge is vital, and I wouldn’t recommend other Abilities because that requires you to spend Credits, which can be spent elsewhere on Upgrades and Parts.

The only thing I’d risk spending Credits on is Overtaking Surge II, as this is an upgrade to your Surge ability that will grant you Surging for 20 seconds. Any overtakes will extend its duration and increase its potency, so use it right at the start of a race, and you’ll be flying past everyone else.
