New York Islanders fans will have two unlikely choices at UBS Arena this season: a grilled cheese stuffed with candy and a fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich covered in pulled pork.
The arena and its food partner, Delaware North, have unveiled new concessions for the 2026–27 NHL season. The standout is a Nerds Gummy Cluster Brie Grilled Cheese, which puts the candy and brie between slices of sourdough bread. It will be sold in Section 220.
Then there’s the Uncrustable Pulled Pork Tostada. The dish starts with a fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich and adds pulled pork, chopped peanuts, grape jelly barbecue sauce and scallions. Fans can find it in Section 107.
Fans react to UBS Arena’s new food
Sports business reporter Darren Rovell shared a look at the grilled cheese on September 23, calling it “the most interesting food entrant in an NHL arena this season.”
“That looks disgusting and I can’t wait to try it,” one person replied.
The pulled pork Uncrustable drew its own questions. “Who is deciding their menu over there? A 9 year old boy?” one user asked under the Stadium Eats post. Another called it a “jailhouse creation,” while a third wrote, “Are people on the island ok?”
The two sandwiches are part of a larger menu refresh. Other additions include Rangoon Toast, a Hot Honey and Pork Rind Pimento Cheeseburger and a South Shore Berry Boba Shake.
The Islanders are due to play their first regular-season NHL home game against the New Jersey Devils on October 3, giving fans their first chance to judge the combinations for themselves.
UBS Arena isn’t alone in testing how far stadium food can go. The Toronto Blue Jays have served cotton candy fries with blue mayonnaise, the Colorado Rockies unveiled a two-foot hot dog covered in mac and cheese, and the New York Yankees sold ice cream disguised as fried chicken.
