Pokemon TCG Collectors Are Now Offering Pets for Trades

Let us look at the new low reached by certain Pokemon TCG collectors as they try to offer their pets in exchange for cards.

The hobby of Pokemon TCG collecting reached a new low with some of them trying to exchange their pets for cards. Such an exchange was experienced by @pickleqw33n on Instagram. She had heard of similar instances, but then a collector tried to offer her his French Bulldogs as a trade. She had given the man a card featuring Snubbull (a Pokemon based on a bulldog) when she saw that he had Bulldogs. However, the man then turned around and started offering them for sale in exchange for cards. He had offered her $4,000 worth of cards for the dogs.

This is not an isolated instance. Another seller, @BoostersandBangers on Instagram, was also offered a $10,000 French Bulldog in exchange for cards. Additionally, this person said that they go to shows and try to exchange these dogs for cards all the time.

Angry Reactions to Pokemon TCG Collectors Exchanging Their Pets Have Been All Over the Internet

People are very angry that some collectors are basically mistreating their dogs by handing them off like goods for barter. Especially since dog breeding has always had ethical issues with how they are reared. Now seeing them being exchanged for what basically amounts to valuable pieces of cardboard has gotten on a lot of people’s nerves.
