Most mods for The Blood of Dawnwalker focus on introducing gameplay changes to address some of the game’s more controversial design choices and quality-of-life additions to improve the overall experience. As is often the case, mods for The Blood of Dawnwalker are only available for the PC version of the game.
Better Story Timer
The biggest gripe a lot of players have with The Blood of Dawnwalker is the 30-day time limit of the main quest and the fact that unlocking skills progresses time. This mod fixes both of those problems.
- Increases the time limit to rescue your family from Brencis from 30 days to 90 days (applies retroactively).
- (Optional) Removes the time cost of unlocking new skills and perks.
- (Optional) Increases the day/night time segments from 8 to 16 or 32.
The mod is made to be modular. So, if you don’t want to increase the day and night time segments, for example, you can only choose the 90 Day increase module and the removal of the time segment cost of acquiring skills, and everything will work correctly.
Uncapped Cutscenes and Menu FPS
By default, cutscenes in The Blood of Dawnwalker are capped at 30 FPS. This mod removes that limit by making the cutscenes and menus completely uncapped. Optionally, you can impose your own FPS limits according to your monitor settings in the mod’s .ini file.
Natural Image Fix

Natural Image Fix reduces the aggressive sharpness filter applied to The Blood of Dawnwalker by a lot, vastly improving the quality of the game image. I’ve tested a few other mods that do the same thing, but this is the one I’ve had the most success with.
Better Shadowstep

This mod increases the range of Coen’s Shadowstep ability by making its upgrades more potent. It doesn’t change the default version of this ability that is unlocked during the prologue, but only affects the Shadowstep upgrades (Shadow Dweller node) you can unlock in the Vampirism Skill Tree.

The mod also removes the Corruption cost for unlocking both of these upgrades, making it so that you can unlock them as soon as you get some free skill points.
Faster Activation Charges
To gain Activation Charges in The Blood of Dawnwalker, you have to either wait for them to recover naturally or perfect successful blocks or attacks, with certain skills like Perfect Block giving you additional ways to do the same thing.
The Faster Activation Charges mod increases both active and passive Activation Charge gain by 2x, 3x, or 5x, depending on which version of the mod you choose. Notably, this mod does not reduce the cooldown of abilities that require an Activation Charge to activate. If you want, you can achieve this with the No Ability Cooldowns mod, though I found this to be a bit too overpowered.
Stamina and Spring Tweaks
There are two modules of this mod that can be installed simultaneously or individually.
- No Sprint Stamina Drain
- No Block and Dodge Stamina Drain
The effects of the mod are self-explanatory, but what’s interesting is that the No Sprint Stamina Drain module doesn’t only work with regular sprinting but also applies to Wolf Shapeshift and Mercurial Fervor, meaning you can zoom across the game world without worrying about stamina regardless of the time of day.
Dodge Overhaul
Dodge Overhaul adds a Perfect Counter mechanic to The Blood of Dawnwalker. Any time you Perfect Dodge an attack, the next attack you do immediately after the dodge deals bonus damage, functioning like Riposte after a Perfect Parry.
Fast Travel Anywhere
A simple mod that makes it so that you can fast travel to any Shrine that you have already unlocked straight from the game’s map, instead of having to physically find a Shrine and interact with it to open the fast travel version of the map. You cannot fast travel to undiscovered Shrines.
