Truck crash leaves cheesy mess as mac and cheese mix covers highway

A truck carrying Kraft Dinner mix overturned in Quebec, coating a highway ramp in bright orange cheese powder and serving up a major traffic jam.

The crash happened at around 7am on August 28 after the driver crossed Montreal’s Samuel-De Champlain Bridge and took the exit toward Route 132 in Brossard.

According to CTV News, the truck veered off the exit and rolled onto its side, spilling its powdered mac and cheese mix across the roadway.

French-language outlet TVA Nouvelles reported that the driver appeared to misjudge the curve before the truck tipped over.

The driver was transported to hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Kraft Dinner spill forces complete ramp closure

The entire highway was not closed, but the eastbound Autoroute 10 access ramp to Route 132 was completely shut while crews removed the truck and tackled the seriously cheesy cleanup.

Quebec 511 confirmed that the ramp was closed for an undetermined period following the truck accident. The spill also caused significant congestion for motorists heading from Montreal toward the South Shore.
