Zankou is a playable Incantation character in NTE. Unfortunately for players who want to pull for her, she’s not F2P-friendly because a big chunk of her DPS is locked behind her signature weapon, Ravenous Blade, and strong support teammates, like Sakiri and Lacrimosa in NTE.

Ravenous Blade
|
Stats |
|
|---|---|
|
T1 Effect |
Increases Crit Rate by 16%. Grants the wearer a 9% Crit DMG bonus for 15s when they deal Incantation DMG. Stacks up to 7 times, with no more than 1 stack gained every 0.3s. Resets the duration when triggered again. |
Ravenous Blade is an insanely powerful Arc, not just for Zankou, but for any Incantation DPS unit. The ability to grant a character a whopping 40% Crit Rate, on top of building 63% Crit DMG, is just too powerful for an Arc’s passive. So, this weapon is the start of powercreeping in NTE. Luckily, it’s Zankou’s signature Arc, and it will keep granting her these Crit values as long as she’s dealing Incantation DMG with any of her attacks.
Contemplative Cat
|
Stats |
|
|---|---|
|
T1 Effect |
Increases Cosmos DMG by 2.5% for every 100000 Fons the wearer holds, up to 10 stacks. |
Other than Ravenous Blade, there’s nothing that works with Zankou’s kit. If you don’t get her best-in-slot, she’ll suffer a massive DPS drop. The second-best Arc for Zankou is Contemplative Cat, just because of the Crit DMG Substat and the decent Base ATK. Other than that, there’s nothing in its passive, as Zankou doesn’t deal Cosmos DMG like Chiz in NTE.
Fluff of Finesse
|
Stats |
|
|---|---|
|
T1 Effect |
Increases wearer’s damage by 8% for 10s after performing a Critical Dodge, up to 3 stacks. Resets the duration when triggered again. |
Fluff of Finesse is an acceptable choice if you don’t own Contemplative Cat. It grants her access to extra ATK% and DMG%. She needs to trigger Critical Dodges to stack the DMG%, though, so you need to know how to do it. Basically, if you’re planning to pull for Zankou, it’s best to pull for her signature Arc, Ravenous Blade.

Crimson: Twin Butterflies
|
Effect |
Epic (2) |
Incantation DMG +10% |
|---|---|---|
|
Legendary (4) |
Increases wearer’s ATK by 6% when a nearby enemy takes Incantation DMG from the Team, up to 6 stacks. Each stack lasts 10s. Effect remains active when the character is off-field. |
Like any other Incantation DPS in NTE, Zankou needs the Crimson: Twin Butterflies set to stack ATK% to maximize her DPS on and off the field. What I like about the Crimson: Twin Butterflies set is the team’s ability to fill the ATK% stacks for her, so she doesn’t need to do extra work. Zankou also gets 10% extra Incantation DMG from the set, which is always good to have.
Zankou Best Modules Set
Zankou gains 16% Crit DMG per Type III Module. This opens the door to stacking an insane amount of Crit DMG on her when you add everything she gets from her signature Arc and Cartridge stats. The Crimson: Twin Butterflies Cartridge set has two Type III Modules, which grant Zankou 32% Crit DMG. After that, there will be enough room to slot two more Type III Modules, adding another 32% Crit DMG, which brings Zankou’s Crit DMG gains from her Modules to 64%.
