Mistfall Hunter has a balanced combat system between its classes. As I was testing, I was surprised to find every class works well in its intended role, and there’s barely any difference in power between classes. Even the overpowered Withered Knight got patched immediately to become on par with the other classes. Still, since every class has its role, some classes can be more useful than others in solo or team modes. In this tier list, I’ll rank every class in Mistfall Hunter based on their performance in solo and team fights, alongside PVE encounters.

S-Tier Classes

Sorcerer

Sorcerer S-Tier Mistfall Hunter

  • PVP Team Fights: Many players are sleeping on the Sorcerer, as they offer a wide variety of offensive and defensive solutions to team fights. The Stardust Magic school has some of the best AoE attacks in Mistfall Hunter. You can also block projectiles, close tight areas, and deal massive damage with their offensive spells, like Stardust Torrent.
  • PVP Solo Fights: Even in solo fights, Sorcerer has a chance to win against any other class if they keep distance and hit their targets. Sorcerer has access to spells that can protect them, like pushing enemies away with the Windcraft spell. Once enemies are unable to reach you, you only need a few seconds to melt their HP and win the fight.
  • PVE: Just like their strong ability to deal AoE damage in team fights, Sorcerer can handle multiple enemies at the same time. They can stun them, collect them in one area, and defeat them with ease. It gets slightly tricky against bosses and strong elite enemies, as Sorcerer’s crowd control becomes useless against them.

Withered Knight

Withered Knight S-Tier Mistfall Hunter

  • PVP Team Fights: Playing Withered Knight with the Greatsword lets them perform almost exactly like the Mercenary, with the added ability to pull enemies using the Thorn Guide skill. But that’s not where they got their S-tier ranking from. Withered Knight excels in team fights because of their ability to deal high damage and control the field at the same time. They don’t have to sacrifice damage for support, as their skills allow them to support allies while constantly applying pressure to enemies.
  • PVP Solo Fights: During solo combat, Withered Knight has abilities that allow them to put pressure and block incoming attacks. That’s enough to rival any other class, and Withered Knight does it comfortably. The only downside is that you need to use more skills with dashing abilities to be able to engage and disengage freely.
  • PVE: With many abilities to dash and shield bash, Withered Knight is more than enough to handle most PVE content on their own or with a team.

A-Tier Classes

Mercenary

Mercenary A-Tier Mistfall Hunter

  • PVP Team Fights: Mercenary is a pure melee class with many skills that jump enemies. They’re built to kill, and not much else in team fights. So, the best way to play Mercenary is by targeting another player and trying to end them as quickly as possible. Once Mercenary fails to do that and the team fight lingers, they become a liability to their team. This is the only reason why I didn’t put them in S-Tier, as they don’t have anything to offer their team other than pure damage.
  • PVP Solo Fights: Mercenary has the best melee attacks in Mistfall Hunter. Being in A-tier doesn’t stop them from being the favorite to win every 1v1. It’s hard for other classes to deal with their relentless dash attacks combined with their high resistance to damage and Super Armor.
  • PVE: Mercenary has a couple of slow attacks that can deal massive damage. Those skills are best used on monsters that won’t move away from your attacks. There’s no class better than Mercenary in PVE encounters.

Blackarrow

Blackarrow A-Tier Mistfall Hunter

  • PVP Team Fights: Using a Blackarrow during team fights is a double-edged sword. On one hand, they melt down enemies with their arrows and skills, dealing a lot of damage while keeping distance. On the other hand, once there’s a Shadowstrix or Mercenary on their tail, they become completely useless until they free themselves or a teammate helps them out. Other than offensive contributions, Blackarrow has a wide variety of skills and arrows that can control and dictate the team fight.
  • PVP Solo Fights: Blackarrow has an advantage against Sorcerer and Seer, but suffers against the rest. You really need to keep your distance and land your trap placements to have enough time to shoot arrows at your enemies.
  • PVE: With an arsenal of traps and skills that control the battlefield, Blackarrow is a very useful class to bring to PVE encounters.

Seer

Seer A-Tier Mistfall Hunter

  • PVP Team Fights: Seer is a very useful class to have during team fights. They control the field with their constructs and offer a mix of buffs, debuffs, and even sustainability to the team. Beyond that, they don’t really contribute to the team’s DPS unless an enemy player commits to pushing deep, then Seer has the tools to punish that.
  • PVP Solo Fights: Seer suffers in solo lobbies, as any player paying even a little attention will just keep walking out of Seer’s constructs’ range. It’s better to avoid Seer when playing solo in Mistfall Hunter.
  • PVE: Again, since monsters don’t walk away from Seer’s constructs, that gives Seer value during PVE encounters, especially against bosses. The team will definitely love having a class like Seer to heal them or shield them during boss fights.

B-Tier Classes

Shadowstrix

Shadowstrix B-Tier Mistfall Hunter

  • PVP Team Fights: Shadowstrix suffers from the same issues as Mercenary, but without any of their survivability. All they can do during team fights is go into stealth mode and track another squishy unit. If they can’t catch that unit, or if the enemy receives help, then all Shadowstrix can do is disengage and wait for their stealth again, and by that time, enemies are ready for it. I’m not saying they’re bad; I’m just saying they’re limited during team fights as a pure damage class that can’t offer anything else.
  • PVP Solo Fights: Surprisingly, Shadowstrix works well in solo fights, purely because of their ability to ambush enemy players. That gives Shadowstrix a head start in almost every fight, and it works especially well on squishy enemies since they’ll prioritize running away instead of fighting back.
  • PVE: Shadowstrix shouldn’t be good in PVE encounters because they lack sustainability. However, they possess some skills that can stun enemies, allowing them to capitalize on that. Of course, it doesn’t work against bosses and harder enemies. It’s better to avoid those PVE encounters unless you’re playing with a team.
