Twitch streamer Hasan Piker threatens to sue Jonah Goldberg after conservative journalist accuses him of abusing his pet dog.
Hasan Piker, also known as “HasanAbi,” has threatened to take legal action against Jonah Goldberg. For context, Goldberg was featured on the most recent episode of CNN’s “The Arena with Kasie Hunt.”
During the conversation, Jonah Goldberg stated that the “juxtaposition between Hasan Piker and James Carville is very interesting.”
He then accused the Twitch streamer of abusing his pet dog, Kaya, and commented on his popularity among a “certain fringe bunch of people”:
“The juxtaposition between Carville and Piker is very interesting to me. Carville’s a guy who’s won, I don’t know, hundreds of political campaigns in America over 30 years? 40 years? Hasan Piker is an influencer who abuses his dog on camera, and he is very popular with a certain fringe bunch of people out there. But he doesn’t care if the Democratic Party succeeds. He wins if the Democratic Party loses, and he wins if Democratic Socialists win.”
During a livestream on July 30, 2026, Piker claimed that Goldberg made defamatory statements about him and threatened to sue him.
The Los Angeles-based personality also accused CNN of “entertaining defamation”:
“I’m going to sue you, mother******! They’re getting nasty. Now they’re doing defamation. That’s crazy! This is something that most mainstream media has not touched because they know it’s defamation. It’s actually kind of wild that they’re in such a panic state that they are now moving on to, like, **** that Fox News won’t even do. Like, Fox News won’t even cover that. Fox News wouldn’t even say that because they know it’s defamation. That is unbelievable that CNN is now entertaining defamation when Fox News wouldn’t even touch that. Wow! That’s wild!”
Hasan Piker Claims Jonah Goldberg “Slandered” Him on a Live News Channel
After Piker responded to Goldberg’s accusation of abusing his pet dog, the Twitch streamer discovered the latter’s recent X post, in which he wrote the following:
“Yawn, I went easy on that fraud.”
In response, the content creator claimed that Jonah Goldberg “slandered” him.
He added:
“Editor-in-Chief of The Dispatch, Jonah Goldberg, is the one who slandered me on Fox News. I said Fox News out loud? Oh. Well, what’s the difference? Well, I guess the difference is, Fox News is a little bit more careful about, you know, deploying slander.”
