10/10 RPG Masterpiece from 2004 Reportedly Making a Comeback Soon

One of the most celebrated RPGs in gaming history is allegedly making a huge comeback in the near future. The 2004 RPG Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines is considered to be a cult classic masterpiece by fans, who praise the game for its writing, setting, and immersive RPG mechanics. Now, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines may be getting the remake treatment if a new leak is to be believed.

The early days of PC RPGs are full of certified classics that would go on to influence modern genre standouts of games like Baldur’s Gate 3, The Witcher 3, and Elden Ring. Early 2000s RPGs were in a league of their own, and games like Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines still hold up fairly well today. There are still some hiccups with the game that a remake or remaster could help iron out, and it could also introduce a new generation of gamers to a world governed by the Camarilla vampire elites and shrouded in the Masquerade.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines Remake Potentially Leaked

In a leak stemming from an unusual source, plans for a Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines remake are reportedly already in motion. Industrial rock band The Genitorturers, who are featured on the Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines soundtrack, have reportedly teased the return of the game via a remake at a recent concert. User Few_Interview8222 shared their experience at this concert on Reddit, reporting that the band was hyping up the crowd with news that the game’s remake is currently in development.

In a separate Reddit post, user Daimler_KKnD, who previously leaked the Japan setting for Forza Horizon 6, corroborates the VtMB leak. However, rather than a full remake, the user says fans should temper their expectations and that the project is more of a remaster “with some caveats.” Still, the return of the original Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, designed for a modern audience, is something fans can be hopeful about.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines takes place in the World of Darkness universe, a world where vampires must adhere to a strict code, known as the Masquerade, where they are barred from revealing themselves or their activities to humans. Within this world, there is a wide range of vampire clans that each come with distinct powers and cultures. Players have tons of freedom to create their character as members of one of the seven vampire clans and invest in various skills depending on how they wish to approach gameplay. The game also features the Masquerade points system, which punishes players for using vampire powers in front of humans, but they can be regained through quest rewards.

Despite the acclaim of this original game, the Vampire: The Masquerade series has seen some hard times in recent years. Other spin-offs of the tabletop game that inspired the video game series have not been as well received as Bloodlines, and the highly anticipated sequel Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 finally released in 2025 after nearly 20 years to middling reviews. The promise of a remake of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines is the chance the series needs to get back on track, so an official announcement may be coming in the near future.
