New Moon: How To Get Nichirin Katana Fast — Grab the pickaxe via the P key’s Points of Interest, mine 10 Scarlet Crimson Ore at the waterfall and cliff nodes plus 5 Scarlet Crimson Sand along the path toward the Water Trainer, then craft at the Wandering Swordsmith once you reach the Slayer rank Tsuchinoto so the craft prompt appears.

New Moon: Get Nichirin Katana Fast
Requirements
- You must have 10 Scarlet Crimson Ore and 5 Scarlet Crimson Sand to craft the Nichirin Katana.
- The craft prompt only appears once you reach at least Tsuchinoto rank in Slayer progression.
Pickaxe setup
- Press P to reveal Points of Interest, track “Pickaxe,” travel to the marker, and press E to acquire it.
- After pickup, you can mine Scarlet Ore and Scarlet Sand nodes around the map.
Scarlet Ore route
- From the Slayer Recruiter, head toward the river with a fallen tree and the nearby waterfall; the first Scarlet Crimson Ore nodes sit by the falls.
- Climb the stone wall to the right of the waterfall to find several additional ore deposits and mine until you have 10.
- If lower spots are empty, check the upper cliff where four more ore nodes can spawn, or wait for respawns/server‑hop since nodes return periodically.
Scarlet Sand route
- Press P and track the Water Breathing Trainer; take the path toward that marker but branch off before reaching the trainer.
- Mine the glowing red Scarlet Crimson Sand deposits near rocks and water until you have 5.
Crafting location
- Open Points of Interest and locate the Wandering Swordsmith in the beginner town, then interact to forge when all requirements are met.
- If the craft button won’t click even with materials, you are almost certainly below Tsuchinoto; rank up and try again.
Rank checkpoint (Tsuchinoto)
- Tsuchinoto is the fifth Slayer rank, two tiers above Kanoto, so plan to clear Final Selection, reach Kanoe, then grind missions/PvP until Tsuchinoto.
- Early playtests didn’t always surface this in the UI, causing confusion; the Swordsmith validates both materials and your rank before enabling the craft.
Fast route checklist
- Press P → grab the Pickaxe (E).
- Farm 10 Ore at the waterfall base and the cliff nodes to the right.
- Farm 5 Sand on the path toward the Water Trainer (branch before the trainer).
- Hit Tsuchinoto → craft at the Wandering Swordsmith in beginner town.
Troubleshooting
- “Cannot craft” with mats: Reconfirm you hold exactly 10 Ore and 5 Sand and that your rank shows Tsuchinoto or higher.
- “Pickaxe marker gone”: That means you already picked it up; proceed directly to ore and sand nodes to mine.
Pro tips
- Use P throughout to keep POIs highlighted so you can loop Recruiter → Falls (Ore) → Water‑trainer path (Sand) → Swordsmith efficiently.
- If competition is high, climb to the upper cliff for extra ore nodes or server‑hop since ore deposits respawn on a timer.
