On October 30, 2026, United States Senator Chris Van Hollen shared his opinion about President Trump’s take on rising oil prices. The senator reposted a clip of the president at a campaign rally in Georgia, where he said the country is “making a fortune.” However, the senator shared his take and said the president is only referring to his allies in the oil industry and not the average working American.

“When Trump says, “We’re making a freaking fortune,” he doesn’t mean you or working Americans, he means his billionaire buddies in Big Oil who financed his campaign. Remember: Trump’s planning to re-intensify the war in a few days. He doesn’t give a [expletive] how it hurts Americans.

The senator also added that the president intends to restart the Iran war after the elections. On the other hand, fellow senator Chris Murphy shared he heard a bit about the future plans.

While speaking to a crowd in Georgia, President Donald Trump acknowledged the high gas prices but assured the people it is only temporary. The president claimed that prices will soon normalize once the war in Iran is over; however, certain senators confirm there are plans to re-intensify the conflict once the elections have concluded.

“While oil prices are temporarily high and will be falling dramatically in a short period of time as soon as that war is over, because there is so much oil all in the Hormuz Strait. There’s ships waiting to come—we get them out so fast. The United States oil and gas business is making hundreds of billions of dollars.”
