On October 28, 2026, the official press office of Governor Gavin Newsom shared an artwork featuring President Donald Trump selling pardons. On X, the image had the president sitting in a booth with slogans saying, “Pardons For Sale $1M.” Meanwhile, at the bottom of the booth, it said, “The Crook Is In,” waiting for people to buy pardons. Note it is a political criticism, not a factual claim.

The official press office shared the image after a report stating the Alexander brothers paid Alan Dershowitz. Alan Dershowitz is an American lawyer and supporter of the president. The report mentioned the brothers paid Dershowitz to receive pardons from the president.
