The Pumpkaboo’s Sweet Surprises event in Pokopia has arrived, and starting from October 17 (5 AM local time) you can complete the event to get Pumpkaboo, the adorable ghost-type Pokemon! How to Start Pumpkaboo’s Sweet Surprises in Pokopia
When you log in to Pokopia, go to the Withered Wasteland to find Pumpkaboo. As you get closer, you’ll see a yellow speech bubble that says, “Maybe I’ll… Maybe I’ll live here.” You’ll find them right outside the Pokemon Center.
When you talk with them, they’ll tell you that they went around and introduced themselves to all the Pokemon in the area and gave them Pumpkin Candies, the currency you will use to purchase event items from Pumpkaboo inside the Pokemon Center.
You can surprise the Pokemon in the Bubbly Basin area if you have it, but you won’t be able to use the Pokemon Center to buy the event-specific items.
How to Get Pumpkin Candies in Pokopia
Use your Transform ability to change your Ditto into various items. After transforming, go over to the Pokemon in the area, and if they mention the object you transformed into, you can undo the transformation and surprise the Pokemon.
After this, they will give you Pumpkin Candies in varying amounts from 1-3. You will only be able to scare the Pokemon once every 8 minutes.
You don’t need to make sure the Pokemon don’t see you to surprise them. If the item catches their attention, it will work even if you transform right in front of them. It also works better with furniture items like dolls, chairs, and lamps than it does with environmental items like trees, flowers, and bushes.
All Pumpkaboo’s Sweet Surprises Event Rewards
From any Pokemon Center, you can buy a few event-specific items from Pumpkaboo. Some of the items are needed to make the habitats for the event Pokemon. It will take you a total of 20 Pumpkin Candies to get one of each item:
