On October 17, 2026, Elon Musk opened up about the protests in France. Recently, a nationwide protest erupted in France, where rioters destroyed several properties, including parked vehicles, department stores, and the historic Limoges Town Hall, which was burned down. Several factors, including issues with the education system, economic strain, and the cost of living, are key elements that led to the protests.

American venture capitalist Shaun Maguire recently posted about the protests. He said “France is done” and claimed that nations following France’s approach to governance would “soon be gone” as well. He wrote:

“France is done. And any nation that takes its advice regarding how to govern will soon be gone itself.”

Elon Musk reacted to Maguire’s post. He said there is “one last chance” in the elections, seemingly referring to the upcoming midterms in the U.S. He wrote:

“Almost. One last chance this election.”

Musk often shares conservative talking points on his social media accounts. Frequently commenting on culture war issues like woke culture, transgender rights, and free speech, the billionaire CEO often advocates for Republican candidates and has invested in campaigns supporting his political interests.

With the upcoming midterm elections, trillionaire CEO Elon Musk has spent around $366 million on political campaigns. The founder of Tesla has made clear that he backs Republican candidates. He also spent roughly $290 million to fund Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign. Recently, Fox News discussed this on its Fox & Friends segment.

One of the hosts, Rachel Campos-Duffy, talked about how Musk supposedly spent his money for “the purpose of freedom.” She also mentioned how his ownership of the platform Twitter, now called X, had “changed the game.” The Fox News host had this to say:

“Elon Musk has consistently used his money for the purpose of freedom. He did it when he bought Twitter, which absolutely changed the game. And, the fact that he’s putting his money into these races says something about where he thinks or what party he thinks stands for freedom. He’s an American, a very new American, he’s inspiring people.”
