The lore of One Piece runs deep and involves many powerful deities with varying levels of strength. As the story continues, we are sure we will see more gods in the world of One Piece, but among those that have already been revealed, quite a few hold the power to destroy the entire world.

Saint Killingham

Saint Killingham is a God Devil Fruit user who is quite easily one of the weakest in the story. Killingham is the user of the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Kirin, which allows him to transform into a Kirin and control dreams. Given that Kirin is a god in mythology, there is no denying the fact that Killingham can transform into a god. This is further represented by Killingham holding a white flame cloud around his neck, unlike the vast majority of the other celestial dragons, who hold a black flame cloud when tapping into their abilities.

Killingham is incredibly strong and can produce many MMAs, which cannot be destroyed until he is defeated in battle. When powered up by an Omen, Killingham becomes so strong that he can overwhelm the vast majority of enemies he faces off against. Killingham can easily destroy an entire country with his god power, and the ability to turn dreams and nightmares into reality truly is divine.

Yamato

Unbeknownst to many, Yamato is also a wielder of a God ability in the world of One Piece. Many years ago, Kaido, the father of Yamato, secured a powerful Devil Fruit, which he had saved for unknown reasons. This Devil Fruit was the Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Okuchi no Makami. Kaido held on to this Devil Fruit for years before Yamato eventually went on to consume it at the age of 8. This Devil Fruit was incredibly powerful and allowed Yamato to transform into the Okuchi no Makami itself. In Japanese folklore, Okuchi no Makami is a wolf God known for its protection. Even in the mythology of the One Piece world, Okuchi no Makami is known to be the Divine Protector of Wano, and most certainly existed long ago as well.

Being a deity, this officially makes Yamato a wielder of a God Devil Fruit, the powers of which allow them to transform into a wolf with ice manipulation powers. Yamato’s strength was such that this fruit allowed them to fight on even footing with Yonko Kaido, and that certainly is more than just impressive.

Monkey D. Luffy

Monkey D. Luffy is the protagonist of the series and also a wielder of a God ability. Luffy consumed the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, at the very beginning of the series, but it wasn’t until the events of the Wano Country arc that this Devil Fruit was finally awakened. In One Piece chapter 1044, Luffy tapped into the awakening of this Devil Fruit in the battle against Kaido, and this allowed him to bring forth the powers of Sun God Nika.

When Luffy transforms into Nika, he calls this form Gear 5, and it allows him to fight with incredible freedom, tapping into both the Color of the Supreme King as well as the Color of Armament at the same time. Luffy’s God Devil Fruit abilities have put him on a completely different level of strength that is unrivaled by most in the world of One Piece at its peak potential, but right now, Luffy is far from his peak, which means there are still Gods who are considered to be stronger than him.

4

Loki

Loki is the Accursed Prince of Elbaf and known to be one of the strongest characters alive in the story at the moment. Loki wields the power of the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhoggr, and this Devil Fruit allows him to transform into the largest dragon in the entire world, with the capability of spitting lightning. Loki’s Devil Fruit power is also said to hold the power to destroy the world, and this makes him a deadly enemy for anyone to face off against.

Even against Nerona Imu, Loki showed enough strength to hold his ground on multiple occasions, despite already sustaining heavy injuries against Shamrock. Loki’s overall powers are absolutely immense and, right now, far greater than those of Monkey D. Luffy. Still, his hybrid transformation remains to be unveiled, and his overall capabilities are out of this world.

3

God of War

In the histories of Elbaf, there existed a God of War long ago, and this individual was known to hold tremendous strength at his disposal. The God of War was able to transform into a giant black dragon known as Nidhoggr and wield lightning-based powers. Alongside him was the Ice Squirrel Ratatoskr, known to be a legendary entity as well.

These two together fought against Sun God Nika and were able to match him in battle. Quite clearly, this God of Elbaf, who lived long ago and died, held immense strength at his disposal and was one of the greatest Gods that the people of Elbaf still worship to this day. More about him will be revealed later down the line in the story.

Joy Boy

Joy Boy is the first pirate to have ever lived in the world of One Piece and also an individual who wielded a God Devil Fruit. Joy Boy held the power of the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, the same as Monkey D. Luffy. This Devil Fruit allowed him to transform into the Sun God of the One Piece world and fight against the threat of Nerona Imu and the other 19 kings with him.

Joy Boy’s overall powers were such that even Imu feared them. They were certainly greater than those of Luffy right now, and while we have only seen brief glimpses of it, it is quite clear that Joy Boy is the strongest character in the entirety of One Piece so far. In the Elbaf arc, Nerona Imu made it quite clear that Luffy, despite holding access to Gear 5 already, is not even a match for Joy Boy and that there is a wide disparity in power between the two.

1

Nerona Imu

The King of the World, Nerona Imu, is an incredibly powerful figure in the world of One Piece, known to hold tremendous strength. Imu is the wielder of the Akuma no Mi, or The Devil’s Fruit, which is the strongest ability to exist in the world. Nerona Imu can transform into the Demon God and wield an ability known as God’s Domination. His power is so immense that even Monkey D. Luffy and Loki together cannot counter it. Nerona Imu has proven himself to be the strongest God on many occasions, but most recently, it was quite evident that even Luffy and Loki’s strength combined was no match for Imu.

What’s even more impressive is that Imu’s strength is significantly nerfed for some reason. At full power, Imu will quite easily be the strongest God in the world of One Piece, who can easily defeat any other God that we have seen so far.

All the chapters of One Piece are available to read via Manga Plus and Viz Media.
