The fourth Oogie Boogie quest, Rescue Mission, is now available in Disney Dreamlight Valley. To unlock it, you must first complete The Ghost in the Portrait and unlock Zero. This time, Oogie Boogie has taken Scrooge McDuck and Merlin, and it’s up to you to rescue them. Here’s how to complete the Rescue Mission quest for Oogie Boogie in Dreamlight Valley.

Check Your Mailbox
To start Rescue Mission, check your mailbox after loading into the game. You will find a letter from Oogie Boogie, who says you’ve ruined his plans one too many times. He tells you to visit him again if you want to see Scrooge McDuck and Merlin safe. It turns out Oogie has kidnapped both of them, so you have to rescue them.
Talk to Oogie Boogie
Next, you’ll need to go to Scrooge’s Store and enter Oogie Boogie’s lair through the green mirror. Talk to Oogie, who’s busy scaring the captured Scrooge and Merlin. He then tells you to find green decor pieces he has hidden around the lair.
Glowing Green Decor Pieces Locations in DDV
Finding all five decor pieces is probably the trickiest part of the Rescue Mission quest. Thankfully, each piece is green and glowing, so they are not too hard to notice. All five are on the ground floor of Oogie Boogie’s lair.
Go downstairs using the left staircase, and you will find the first piece right in front of you. The second piece is on a table near the firepit in the middle of the room. The third is near the staircase on the right. After picking it up, turn right and look behind the right staircase to find the fourth piece. Look for the fifth piece on the pillar near the right staircase.

Interacting with the glowing decor pieces releases Ghosties. When you confront Oogie Boogie and ask him to let Scrooge and Merlin go, he refuses. You then speak to Merlin, who explains that Oogie has grown stronger by using Fear Essence. Merlin is not sure what his weakness is. Scrooge also joins the conversation and suggests letting Zero sniff around the lair to see what he can find.
First, you will have to open the Wardrobe menu and equip Zero as your companion. Then return to Oogie Boogie and talk to him. While you keep Oogie occupied, Zero will find a useful piece of paper and drop it on the ground floor. Pick it up to get the recipe for Extra Strength Bug Spray.
Get Skeleton Fish and Lava Core
Skeleton Fish and Lava Core are two ingredients needed to craft Extra Strength Bug Spray. You can fish for both in the firepit in the middle of the lair’s ground floor. Equip your fishing rod and cast your line into the firepit. You might catch other items first, but keep fishing until you have both ingredients.
The third ingredient is a fragrant, perfectly tended flower, which you can get from Goofy. You will also need 10 Dream Shards, which you can easily get by removing Night Thorns.
Once you have all the ingredients, you can use the crafting station in Oogie Boogie’s lair to make Extra Strength Bug Spray. Give the sprays to Scrooge and Merlin, then confront Oogie Boogie with them to complete the Rescue Mission quest.
