Veteran actor Nicolas Cage recently stated that he is “not an AI-friendly actor,” revealing he refused to sign the waiver for Spider-Noir.

At the 2026 New York Comic Con, Nicolas Cage hosted a panel where the veteran actor talked about the show Spider-Noir, co-produced by Amazon MGM Studios. Cage described Amazon as an “AI-friendly company.” After revealing that he is “not an AI-friendly actor,” the crowd cheered for the Hollywood star. The Leaving Las Vegas actor said he did not sign the waiver allowing Amazon to use AI on the show.
In addition to that, the actor revealed that he is probably not going to work with Amazon MGM again. He had this to say:
“Amazon is a very AI-friendly company, to the tune of $50 billion invested in OpenAI. I am not an AI-friendly actor, so it’s like, connect those dots! I’m not a member of their club. I didn’t sign the waiver to let him use AI on Spider-Noir. I’m probably not going to be working with that studio again, but that’s okay.”
On May 27, 2026, Amazon Prime premiered Spider-Noir globally for fans to tune in. However, Amazon canceled the show after one season despite its several award nominations.
