Black Clover fans have long waited for the grand return of their beloved anime series. Having gone on hiatus in 2021, the series finally returned on October 3, 2026, with the release of Black Clover Season 2 Episode 1.
Black Clover’s newest episode was definitely an exciting ride for all of us, as it delivered to us various mages of the Clover Kingdom heading straight into Spade, with two main goals in mind: saving Yami and William from the clutches of the Dark Triad, and stopping the ritual of the Tree of Qliphoth. Little did our main cast know what kind of enemies await them in Spade. Aside from the Dark Triad, there are other powerful foes awaiting to be confronted, two of which have just been revealed in the new Black Clover Season 2, Episode 2 preview, known as Lilith and Naamah, Supreme Ranking Devils with overwhelming strength.
Black Clover Season 2 Episode 2 Reveals Two New Supreme Ranking Devils Named Lilith and Naamah
Black Clover Season 2 just made its debut after a very long wait. In the first episode of the new season, we got the massive setup of the war, which encompasses the Spade Kingdom Raid Arc. While Asta trained to master his Devil Union, the mages of the Clover Kingdom were deployed. The Captains of the Black Bulls and the Golden Dawn, Yami and William respectively, are in grave danger, and their abilities are being used for nefarious goals. By having captured both Yami and William, their Dark Magic and World Tree Magic are used in the ritual of the Tree of Qliphoth. This ritual has already started, and its consequences could be catastrophic to the world of Black Clover if fully achieved. For now, there is still time before the ritual is completed, and the chance to strike back is now. For now, the ritual goes on, and through it, Devils have already started exiting through the channel into the human world.
In a new preview for Black Clover Season 2 Episode 2, released on October 5, 2026, by Studio Pierrot, we got to see two of these newly manifested devils, named Lilith and Naamah. For fans unaware, Lilith and Naamah are Supreme-ranking Devils of the Black Clover world. They are some of the strongest characters of the Spade arc and are going to confront our main cast because of the efforts of Morris, whose actions have accelerated the completion of the ritual. Among the currently unleashed Devils, they are the strongest, most thematically relevant, and they were able to come out first as they reside in the first level of the Underworld.
Lilith and Naamah Stand as A Major New Threat Facing The Main Cast
Based on the preview alone, we know that nothing significant will be featured in the next episode of Black Clover Season 2 from Studio Pierrot. All we have is just a teaser for what’s to come in the new episode, set to be released on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Based on the preview alone, we know how important Lilith and Naamah are going to be, but information about them remains limited. Obviously, from their designs, Naamah and Lilith are supposed to be twin devils. They look almost identical, apart from their coloring scheme, with Lilith being highlighted in blue and Naamah in red.
Either way, the two fight together and make for a powerful threat individually, and even more so with their abilities combined. With foes of this scale on the battlefield, someone has to face them, and from the preview revealed by Studio Pierrot, this role will come down to Nacht Faust, the Vice Captain of the Black Bull, currently acting as main captain with Yami’s Absence.
There’s no arguing from what we’ve already seen that Nacht Faust is strong. He possesses Shadow Magic, a powerful magic attribute that allows him to control and slip into shadows. He specializes in sneak attacks with sleek close combat, but even with that, his chances seem slim when faced head-to-head with two Supreme-ranking Devils. At the very least, Nacht will try his best to hold them back, something he should be more than capable of doing with his own personal 4 Devils. He is the most competent person in proximity who can fight them. There are stronger mages than Nacht in Spade, but they’re all busy with their own battles against the Dark Triad or other Devils.
Black Clover Season 2, Episode 2, will give us a closer look at his plan of action moving forward. He will need more than raw strength to come out alive.
Black Clover Season 2 To Showcase More Powerful Devils
The Spade Kingdom Raid arc commences with the introduction of Lilith and Naamah, but these two are only the beginning when it comes to powerful Devils about to make their entrance. The Spade Kingdom Raid arc, after all, is all about the Tree of Qliphoth and the Devils it will unleash. The longer the ritual is allowed to go on, the more powerful Devils will exit through it. Being only from the first Level of the Underworld, there are far stronger beings than these two to face off against.
For one, we know that within the Dark Triad, each has a powerful devil in their possession. Zenon has the help of the devil Beelzebub. Being from the depths of the Underworld and possessing Spatial Magic, he will make Zenon a fearsome foe. Dante, meanwhile, has a contract with Lucifero. Lucifero’s powers will grant Dante gravity Magic on a completely new scale. There’s also Vanica, who has the assistance of the Devil Megicula. Megicula has the power of Curse-Warding Magic, and anyone who stands in her way will face her wrath. All of these devils are high-ranking and possess unique powers that set them apart from the rest.
As also teased from Black Clover Season 2’s official poster, Lucifero, the King of the Underworld and the strongest Devil, will also make his own manifested appearance, beyond just Dante. While he will not be able to manifest at 100% unless the ritual is completed, even a fraction of his power is enough to annihilate the average mage.
For now, Lilith and Naamah take center stage, and while Nacht will hold them back for some time, another top-tier mage will have to step up to fight them, and also the likes of Lucifero. A good candidate for this battle would be Asta, our main character, who hasn’t yet made his presence known on Spade. While we’re most excited for the strongest Devils, we also can’t forget the horde of countless low- to mid-ranking devils that have already made it out of the Underworld after the opening of the first gate. These devils are, of course, not the strongest, but they will still be a challenge with their sheer numbers.
There are also the allied devils to keep track of. Asta has Liebe, one of the lowest-ranking devils, at his disposal. Liebe and Asta will be among the main fighters in this arc through the use of anti-magic. Nacht, of course, also has his four devils. Gimodelo, Slotos, Plumede, and Walgner will all be instrumental in battle, and they will be incredibly useful in keeping the threat of Lilith and Naamah at bay.
