Aion 2 players can equip Pets to help them during exploration, picking up items, and sometimes even acting as mounts. And new players will be able to choose from 4 free pets right from the start (thanks to launch gifts), plus another 3 free pets when they complete the first set of tutorial missions. Now, they might be wondering which one to choose from these strange creatures, so let’s take a look at what they can offer and which is the ideal one you should pick in both giveaways.
Which Free Pet Should You Choose in Aion 2?

When players log in for the first time to Aion 2, they will receive a care package containing 4 Pets you can choose from (Pet Selection Chest). Claim the chest first from the Mailbox, then open it in your inventory.
Each pet has a Genus Insight value that allows you to earn extra stats. In some cases, these Pets can also be used as Mounts. Each Pet will start at level 1, and obtaining the same pet or a soul fragment of it will increase its Insight Level. At level 3, Pets can Transform into higher-tier versions. The highest level any pet can reach is 10. Here are your first four options for a Free Pet in Aion 2, and their characteristics:
- Papis: Adds 1 to Mount Ground Speed
- Silver Blade Rotan: Mount Stamina Sprint Cost Reduction 0,1%
- Konutin Worker: Stamina 3
- Black Smoke Murute: Stamina 3
In this case, it would be best to choose the Konutin Worker or the Black Smoke Murute, as they both offer 3 Points of Stamina. Now, after completing Mission All Geared Up (Episode 1), talk to Kaidros to pick from 3 extra Free Pets:
- Fossa: Adds 1 to Mount Ground Speed (Can be used as Ground Mount)
- Armadon: Adds 1 to Mount Ground Speed
- Tog: Adds 1 to Mount Ground Speed
The obvious choice should be to pick the Fossa, since it offers the option to use it as ground mount. You can always use the Pet Search Feature to check on their stats and benefits, and also clues on where to obtain these pets.
Defeating monsters across the continent will allow players to obtain their Souls. After gathering enough Souls, the monster will be automatically registered as a Pet. All collected Pets have special stats, and expanding your collection will increase your Insight Level and allow you to earn more stats.
